Well that is not something you see on this site every day. I hate to ask but what are these 86-87s going for now, particularly the Jordans?

No clue they are from my late husbands collection I don’t know much about cards I was thinking 300 each on the he Jordan’s or 900 for all the fleer

I think you need to get current values on these before you try to move them. I know the Jordan RC skyrocketed since the pandemic started and rose from $700 to $3000. If those Jordans are real (fakes are pretty common) you'd be getting ripped off by selling them for $300.

I HIGHLY suggest you do some research before you move these.

I’ll have to get copies sent to me but my husband knew a guy at psa that checked the Jordan’s before he purchased them and authenticated them

Just be carefull on those. They are like gold when it comes to sports cards.

For starters I'd post a topic in the Price Check Room asking what the regular Jordan RC, the Jordan sticker and the Barkley rookie card book for. Someone here is sure to have updated values which I unfortunately do not.

Do not sell the Jordans for that cheap. Those are worth very much more. Take his collection to a shop and have them appraised. Or use completed ebay auction listings to get an idea. Dont sell yourself short.

thank you i really just want to get the cards gone they depress me when i see them and my husband isnt at the desk sorting and admiring them theres not a shop within 15 miles of my house

I'm not sure most local card dealers would be able to tell if it is real or not. I know more than a little about older cards and I cannot say for certain if a Fleer Jordan is real or not.

One way to tell if the Jordan is legit is to look at the edge of the card on the right side (I believe that is the correct side). It should have little fuzzy cardboard hairs visable since Fleer apparently did not have great cutting equipment and the cuts were not clean. I bought my set back in 1986 and sure enough mine has those little haird on one of the edges.

That method is not definitive to know if that card is real or fake but I did read about that some years back and it certainly was the case for mine.

If the Jordans are legit, theyre worth thousands each. Thats worth the drive. Just saw a Jordan garded a 6.5 out of 10 sell for 6500.00 I saw all the Baseball vintage you listed as well. Your husband left you a windfall! I'm not trying to boss you around. Just saying all the cards you have been posting are very highly sought after cards. Be careful moving them to maximize your husbands hard work and good eye!

Where did you see the baseball cards she posted? I can't find them.

The fact that she has other vintage cads is a real plus for her as far as the Jordan's being real. I don't worry about fakes when there is a large group of similar cards with a key card like the Fleer Jordan. But when someone brings me a highly sought after card with no backing collection, I get very nervous. Since she apparently has other vintage cards it lends me to believe the MJ is real.

Thanks! I could not find them because her profile does not work and that topic is on the second page so I was having a hell of a tiome. Nice stuff indeed! That 54 Bowman Mantle and the 1957 Ted Williams probably book over a grand...especailly the Mantle should be well over that figure.

Jill, just make sure you have an updated value on these cards before moving them. And don't take them to a dealer or collector and just leave the cards with them to go through. I've seen a lot of people over the years who leave their cards with others becsuse they seem trustworthy and end up getting robbed blind. I don't care how nice someone seems, do not leave your cards with a stranger or you'll end up with the chaff since they took all the wheat.
