Hey All...FYI I have been contacted by the DOJ Fillings Montana, concerning a postal worker, Zachary Simpson, living in Missoula Mt. that among other things, they believe he was taking envelopes/mailers containing trading cards, for his personal use. I can't locate anyone living in Montana??? But they have a mailer with my addy. If you live in Montana and have made a trade/sale with me, PLMK.

tks
Jerry

I just made 2 transactions with a fellow Benchie from Missoula, MT and everything went fine. Twice I sent concealed cash and twice received cards in return. These transactions both happened in the last two or three weeks and both went perfectly.

@Platnum71 is from Missoula. I know I made many trannys with him. Perhaps connect up with him and ask

I have never heard of an issue with any of ours. I think we made one recently also.

Yes it was me. We have chatted about this buts its been awhile I still have the chat thread
We made a trade and you received the cards I sent you, but I never did. They sent me a picture of the envelope and told me it was under investigation. This trade was made in March of 2024. I got a letter from the post office regarding possilble theft about May and we chatted a little bit. I did get a letter last week saying to contact them. I did and they told me Zachary stole every piece of mail he thought might contain a sports card. One of the packages was the cards I was getting from you. I marked the trade complete and took the loss because obviously it wasnt our faults. Anyway, they said he is pleading guilty and they may be contacting me in the future about compensation, but I dont know when that will be. I will send you another message on that chat thread.

Wow! This guy was a criminal mastermind to be sure. Getting a Federal charge against you for .........SPORTS CARDS? Was he expecting a high grade '52 Topps Mantle in one of these mystery packages?? Well at least he'll have plenty of time to study for his MENSA admittance test.

This guy would have had to have known who was dealing or collecting sports cards and just targeted the handfull of serious collectors in a small city like Missoula. I'm wondering if he stole outbound packages as well as inbound ones? Either way, what on Earth could he have found that would have been worth the risk he took?

This is wild. I had The PO reach out to me after making claims last year about missing mail (A lot). They admitted someone had stolen a drop box key. Guess what, all the boxes are keyed the same so the crook was having a field day. Nonetheless there was no compensation from there end just a sorry about your luck which is BS seeing they admitted it. EVERYTHING goes in the drop box INSIDE the PO now. A lot of unnecessary traveling now, especially since I have to go to the next city as the city I lived in is shared. At least I have a little more sense of security. It sucks because I have a drop box on the next corner.

Wow, that's terrible. I always take mail into the post office and use the internal drop box, as I felt it was safe only when it was physically inside the post office. I didn't trust people around me after my local mail carrier told me that people would follow a distance behind and possibly steal mail after he dropped things off. They were after credit cards, they didn't care about box packages

It would be hard for the guy to steal the outbound mail, once it was processed and shipped out, it would be beyond him to steal. Anything that was on his route after he sorted his mail to deliver, no one would be able stop him once he left the post office. I wonder he took every mailer looking for the cards, or small boxes where helpful sellers have return labels starting with '*** cards'. Maybe he stole a large volume of mail and a lot of complaints came in to get that much attention.
