This card had me doing a little research on Cowboys who had won the NFL rushing title. Much to my amamzement Dorsett never won one! I knew he was waaaaay up on the All Time Rushing leaders when he retired but I had no idea he was 2nd only to Walter Payton and had more career rushing yards...
I wish I could trade places with you. My third year of card collecting was 1967! Granted I started collecting younger than most..............but still.
Talk about feeling old., I was talking to someone about Don Henley's hit "Boys of Summer" which iI find to be OK. I looked it up and that...
Gotta give that card a like since Stepnoski is one of my ethnic peeps.
Why does that card say Houston Oilers? I did not know he played for them unless it is an error.
Those Super Vet cards in 1983 Topps always made sense except for one. Gene Garber! I have no idea how he was one of the SV cards since those were all big time HOF/HOFish type players like Bench, Reggie, Gaylord, Yaz and on and on. Somehow Gene Garber made it in this subset. I was buying new...
Funny you should mention the late Roger Brown since he is maybe the #1 reason I got into sports cards at such a young age. When I could open a pack of cards and get a card of someone I had actually met through connection to my dad, that tends to spark one's interest!
You can only get his 1963 Topps RC and his 1962 Post Cereal the latter I do not believe I have. I have a lot of those 1962 Post Cereals and a pre rookie card of someone the stature of Bob Lilly I surely would have remembered. I will have to check on that but I'm not feeling very otimistic...
That's only a 3? I know you can't see flaws all that well sometimes when the card is slabbed but geez.
I've been looking forward to seeing the grades you got on those cards especially the Ripken Traded and Henderson RC.
Here is what you are looking for and dirt cheap to boot. The seller has already discounted it %20 due to lack of interest. Maybe you know someone who could buy this for you sine I think you are like me and don't buy online.............yes I am an admitte pansy when it comes to buying online...
Those are the ones. They were used since cards became a thing in the early 1980s so most every oversized cards offered at card shows or card shops would be in one. Which ones were screwed down too tightly? We have no way of knowing.
There are many inexpensive ways to buy cards since there are many, many more sellers than buyers. Plus, I always remember they are just cards and not a necessity, a can't lose philosophy that has served me well through the decades and prevented my wallet from being emptied out on a continuos...
I'd always err on the side of caution on cards like Finest and similar issues. No need to alter a card since it is easy to alter but IMPOSSIBLE to put back in its original form. Let someone else alter those cards and let them deal with any downside.
I bought a 1996-97 Finest Kobe RC at a...
I just noticed that. So from now on that team is to be refered to as the "#1 Kids" and those Canadian cards will likewise be called "O-#1-Chee".....or "O-Taking a leak-Chee" for short.
I didn't know much about Curt Simmons since his career was winding down just as I was begining to follow MLB. I just looked him up and he played 20 years in the bigs and was the last living member of the N.L. chmpion 1950 Phillies""**** Kids" team. He and Michigan State University's own Robin...
OK by a miracle I tracked down the video I spoke of. The main topic is these back pocket Game worn cards which lend me to numerous Beavis and Butt-Head type jokes...........but I digress.
About a minute into the video the guy touches on the past problems with "game Used" or "Game worn" cards...
