Thanks for checking on those 1972s for me. I'll check and see what I have from your needs. What are your condition requrements on the 1973s?
If you have any more vintage football left, I may be interested.
Two questions for you.
What are your condition requirements on your 1973s?
And do you have any low grade 1972 Topps baseball for trade? I have a low conditioned near complete set that I am in the process of DOWNGRADING (there is a new one for you!) and need to following 5 cards in low grade...
For your next homework assignment, you now have to track down the Gold version of that Emmitt Smith. I've never seen the GOld versions of the Monsters of the Gridiron cards but there is a parallel set of them.
Another Monsters of the Gridiron set I have never laid eyes on is the 1993 30 card...
I also graduated from MSU although it was the Michigan one and only about 40 years before you did. We're like twins almost! LMAO!!
Again, welcome to the board!
While not an official goal of 2024, I picked up 3 of the 1962 Topps Football Bucks I need leaving me just 4 short for the set. The biggest name I still need is Y.A. Tittle as well as Lou Goza, Yale Lary (both hofers) and Norm Snead. Oddly I need 11 1962 Topps Baseball bucks but only 1 HOFer...
That is a good question. I'm not sure about that. I do like the old logos like the Cowboys one and the Steelers one when you scrol down a bit. The Steeler's one is Chieftazmisty's avatar. Chief used to have the #1 avatar on the board but it was dethroned by your Richard Lumber one! LOL
Yes that 65 Philly card was funny which is another reason he stands out in my mind. Looking at the other Cowboys in the inagural 1960 Topps run I actually think Jerry Tubbs was the only one to play more than a year or two for Dallas. L. G. Dupre played for 2 seasons and after that he lived up...
LMAO! I think because his 1965 Philadelphia card is one of the very first cards I remember plus his name is humorous for a football player.
1965 Topps and Philadelphia cards are the first football cards I remember and 1966 Topps is the first baseball set in my memory. Anything prior to...
Absolutely! They had the National issue which was unfortunately in my area and each NFL city had its own team set. Those regional ones are much more scarce and much more expensive. We got the Nationals here since we are between the Buffalo and the NYC markets. Also on those regional issues...
100% agree. I think many of the regular issue sets are boring. I really gravitate to these off shoot issues like Kelloggs, Hostess, 7-11, Kraft and the one pictured here. I didn't realize they were not as prevalent these days.
I think my favorite off shoot set I ever pieced together was...
NOW WE"RE TALKING!!! The first run of Dallas Cowboys in their expansion year of 1960. Not one of them was pictured in a Cowboy's uniform since these photos were all taken before the Cowboys existed. And as far as I know only one player in the original Topps run of Cowboys played with the...
OK now it makes sense. Those are the 8 guys who had regular Braile cards that were inserted into 1992 Action Packed Factory sets. Was there any info on how one acquired either the 288 cards in the Mint set or the 8 cards in the Mint Braille set? I've guessing thery were available though...
From doing some quick research, I think only Irvin and Emmitt had these Mint Braile cards made. I checked Barry, Elway, Marino, the Dallas Cowboys and the New york Giants and only Irvin and Emmitt had those cards. There may be others but out of those two teams and those 3 players only the two...
Trading card database calls these cards 1992 Action Packed Mint. They did an entire parallel run of these which is incredible. There is no info if these were pack inserts (doubtful), or a special send in. Not many of these were pictured on TCDB so I am wondering if they were something...
I'm one of the few collectors that likes the Action Packed products and I know about the Braille cards and the 24 kt. gold cards but I've never heard of these Gold Braille parallels before! Interesting.
