I was very surprised that when Pele passed away that there was not more coverage on him in the mainstream media. As a non soccor guy, Pele was about the only player I knew, but worldwide he was a household name.

I just looked at Trding Card Database and they don't have it listed as an uncorrectd error. I wonder if the Beckett's annuals did? If I can find one around here, I'll look that up. I mght be the only person who has such a card mess that those huge annual guides can go MIA! I could be a...

I absolutely love those late 60s/early 70s football poster inserts. I think there were three sets of them, 1971 (pictured aboce), 1970 and 1968. Topps really outdid themselves with the really fantastic football inserts in that time period like stand ups, 4 in 1's, glossy inserts and of course...

Scobes briging out the heavy artillery these days. An historic card in an historic year!

Wow! So it was a team issued item! Awesome! That is a really nice item!!! Speaking of yearbooks, I heard that MLB teams no longer put those out. Is that true? I also heard that game programs are a thing of the past as well.

Do I have to send first as a seller in a buy/sell transaction?

I looked at some of the cards you were looking to trade or sell. They were high end from what I saw so most members would need you to send first. If you had lower value items, I'd personally have no problem mailing at the same time as you but the high dollar cards would mmake me too leery to...

Is that a regional vintage issue or a modern card? It certainly has a look of a team issued card from "back in the day" with the black and white and a blank back.

I am shocked at that current value. I thought for sure the posters would follow the price rise of the 1968 Topps Game cards which were ridiculously low and now have gone up substantially. Despite so many sports cards being overpriced these days, there still are great buys out there even at...

And a pretty awesome one at that! I think these posters finally increased in value over the past 5 or 6 years. Their value was stagnant for decades with the Mantle poster only booking at $20. I know they have gone up and I hope the Mantle is over $100 these days. It is funny how Topps...

A great subset by Topps and a big reason I am enamored with older cards. I wonder why Topps discontinued the LL cards especially since their base sets expanded to 792 cards? I guess they had "better" ideas.

Wow! After reading your post, I had to look him up and he has a most interesting Wikipedia page! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craig_Curry_(quarterback) My best friend from college is an insane Michigan football fan and he knows tons of people from the U of M football program over the...

I still think it was between Staubach and Jerry Rhome for Dallas's greatest all time QB. Just sayin.

Scobes with another RC of a Hall of Famer! !971 Topps had a lot of HOF/prominant RCs in it besides Bradshaw and Greene. Ken Houston, Willie Lanier, Marty Schottenheimer and of course Charlie Sanders for starters. I'm thinking Charlie Sanders was part of the North Carolina to Minnesota...

THe first baseball card set I remember as a kid. I smile any time I see a 1966 Topps baseball card! Topps put a ton of info on the card backs without making them look busy.

Scobe's cards are saved!!! My faith in you was well deserved. It was indeed Dr. Frank Ryan. I did not realize McDonald played with the Falcons in 67 or the Browns in 68 either. I know his heyday was with the Eagles, followed by stints with the Cowboys and the Rams but not the latter two...

I found it. At the 7:00 mark they say Tommy McDonald was the last postition player to not wear a facemask. The 2 devastating hits he took in this short segment make me wince! And yet the little dude played without a facemask! And I will bet every card in Scobe's collection that Ricshles...

I was stunned to find out that Tommy McDonald was the last position player to play without a face mask in 1968 with the Browns. I have to find that video on Youtube where they showed him playing without the facemask.

I never knew about his name being spelled wrong on this card until yesterday. It only has been widely known for 31 years so I'm a little behind the times.

Best avatar ever! And the 2nd best isn't even close. LMAO!! On removing wax stains from the front of cards my brother said use a well used dryer sheet on the card. When he says "well used" he is talking about one you are about to throw out. That type of sheet would be very soft and not...
