No kidding!. I'd crack that Henderson out of the case (if you can do so safely) and think about sending it back for a regrade. Granted I can talk all boldly since it is not my Hendo, but that card sure looked better than a 6!
IT's always tough to predict the grade from a card's picture online but I could see you doing a little better than that. Centering seems to be a big priority with grading services and while yours is not perfectly centered, it isn't that far off. There might be sliiiiight touches of wear on a...
Very nice Scobes! A fantastic HOF rookie card! Brown was one of the two prominant Rosies that were New York Giants RCs in this 1956 set. Rosie Grier was the other one. The more famous Rosie is Grier and he is not in the Hall of Fame despite a stellar career. I'm pretty sure Rosie Grier...
That was exactly what the person I spoke to said. It was a mob scene, it was hard to get to tables, prices were high and dealers were not willing to make deals. I am surprised that dealers were not looking to buy though. One of the big pluses settting up at shows or owning a card store are...
Pretty much 3 times the man of just about everybody this side of Mike Tyson! LOL The media never even mentioned him but spent tons of tieme on the clown show next to him who was acting the fool the entire time.
NIIIICE CARD!!!!
One should always be on a Jim Brown kick! LOL NFL rushing leader for 8 of his 9 years and retires at the height of his careeer! How Barry Sanders of him!
I don't know if you remember when Kanye West met Donald Trump in the oval office but the guy sitting next to Kanye...
If your 1992 Stadium Club football are numbered 601 to 700 you have the rare high series. I've never seen a hen with teeth and I've also never seen any of those 3rd series cards. Check them out carefully for being 3rd series.
When you find out what you want for those 1990 sealed Score...
You have some pretty nice stuff there. The 4 1990 Score traded sets with the Emmitt RC are pretty valuable especially if sealed, 1989 Score sets are down some but still have decent value with a slew of HOF rcs in it. The 1981 Topps with the Montana is a good set. The 1991 Stadium Club has a...
I remember you posting that before. It was determined that was the game right after the Kennedy assasination where the Brown's fans blamed Dallas for the murder. Great pic from an historic moment for this nation.
Very true but I limited my supermens to the 4 major sports. Thorpe would definately fit into that category had I expanded my qualifications.
While Gretzky was the more skilled hockey player, Howe gets my vote for both excellance, toughness and longevity. Playing that sport into your 50s is...
I have a fair amount of certified autographs but the only two autos I know are 100% authentic are Jim Brown's and Pat Benatar's both of which I got in person. An odd pairing, I admit but they do reflect my general tastes in sports and music.
My favorite player in any sport to collect. His last year was the year I began collecting cards so I really didn't get to see him play during his career but he still is my #1 guy to collect.
For me he is one of the 4 Supermen of sports. By that I mean guys who were physical freaks and...
I'm pretty sure mm1sub went.
I spoke to a friend of a friend of mine who went and he said it was a mob scene and you couldn't get close to most of the tables. He said he brought $1,000 with him and felt like a pauper when he saw how much money was flowing there. From the sounds of it, I...
That does seem to be a HOF resume for sure.
Can you think of any Hall of Famers on those good 1970s Dodgers team besides Don Sutton? I can't remember the outfielders on those teams and the ones I do recall were not Hall of Famers. Same with the pitchers as I can only remember a couple of them...
And a thanks back to you for that 2001 Drew Brees E-card. I was making a rare trade yesterday when I noticed I had never marked it as received since it had been so long since I had been in the Transaction feature. I know I thanked you via PM but never marked it as received until last night...
I'm pretty sure we traded some years ago for some of your 1973 Topps needs for older football. If memory serves, you traded me a really nice Merlin Olsen RC as well as some 1964 Topps football which included a Len Dawson in a Browns uni! That picture was a little out of date in 1964. LOL...
I know he finally got inducted into the Hall recently, but I always considered him a Hall of Famer. SAme with guys like Harold Carmichael and Steve Garvey in baseball. I know the latter is not in the HOF but I still view him that way.
