Yeah, the sad thing is tthe one guy would go into the store and make deals with the owner as they he or they were casing the joint. That would suck finding out the perps were actually people you knew! I know the owner was super pissed when he found out who it was.
This store is in a nice...
That happened to the longest running card shop in the Syracuse area not once, not twice but three times!!! Ironically, I knew both the victim and the ringleader of the smash and grabbers in this case. My list of aquanances seems to be very diverse! The perps in this case knew right what to go...
No way! Not members on this site! Say it ain't so.
I for one would never do that! I could be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure you have a beautiful 1961 Fleer Don Meredith RC on your tradesite. When you trade that card to me, we will use BV or SV on it, whichever is lower. LMAO If you are...
In the early 90s the Action Packed 24Kt gold cards were highly sought after especially the Emmitts. No one could ever seem to come up with many and never an Emmitt. Fast forward to 2022 and a guy came in to our LCS with about 25 24 kt gold cards and they were all Cowboys and mostly Emmitt...
I always liked this card because it is from the set that Staubach's rookie card appears in. If memory serves Staubach appeared in 4 cards that year......his regular RC, an In Action card, NFC Passing Leaders and the one you just posted.
And miraculously, no Roger Staubach cards appeared in...
Have you ever noticed that the uniforms of the 1960s and 70s are better looking than their more modern versions? THe Cowboys basically kept the same design with few alterations to their iconic uniforms which is good. For starters the Patriots, Broncos, Bucanneers, Titans/Oilers and especially...
I'm pretty sure you are talking about Charley Conerly. I'm pretty sure I have seen some pretty interesting Marlboro commercials on Youtube featuring him. Oh how times have changed! If I can find that commercial, I'll post it here.
I'll check through my dups in the near future for some of...
I love how Topps kept using pics with the old Uniforms 3 or 4 years after they were replaced by the more wll known style. I'm pretty sure they continued this practice in 1969 as well (Meredith, Lilly and Chuck Howley for sure) with others like Hayes in more current unis. FINALLY Topps...
NICE! The centering on this is pretty darn good considering 1981 Topps is notorious for centering problms.
Being an O.G. of card collectiing (I mean I consider 1981 Topps as "modern"), I distinctly remember the rookies that were sought after when 1981 Topps was issued. Joe Montana was not...
My brother actually bought a 1955 Bowman Campanella from the victim of this crime 3 or 4 years ago. He sets up in some regional card shows in Michigan and is always worried about theft and extremely conservative when it comes to handing cards for prosepective customers to look at. We used to...
Theft and fraud have been two major problems for the sports card industry. Theft has always been a MAJOR concern of mine. THis theft takes the cake though.
It looks like the dealer should have taken more precautions though.. It looks like he has a bunch of kids ( he refers to them as...
Topps made numerous numbering errors in the early 1990s particularly with their basketball sets. I too had the Emmitt and the MAthis version but not the tuaolo. I have some unsorted 1991s around here somewhere and if I find the one you need, I'll PWE it to you.
I don't know if you know this but there is no #462 in the 1991 Topps set. There are however, 2 #460s. One is Esera Tuaolo and the other is Terance Mathis whixh ia aupposed to be the actual #462 Check your dups as you may have it. If not, you can list which #460 you need.
Same here. And he had a lot of career highlights with a Heismann, a National Title as a Senior and Rookie of the Year and a Super Bowl championship as a rookie. That's pretty good.
