Frankly, I would love to be sitting in an old diner with a couple of the collector-fans here, drinking coffee and reminiscing about random ballplayers of the golden age. Lemme know when we can do that !
Got this nice 15 card lot of 59 Topps at my LCS today, including 2 HoF, 2 HoVG, 5 Rookies, and 6 other commons, in solid mid-grade condition - all for $35.
Now I'm down to 30 cards to complete the set.
I did not know about this guy until an article in the NY Times yesterday about a retrospective of his work. Turns out I have his only card.

They are all pack fresh sharp. Centering varies (qc on that set was all over the place). There are HoF, stars, and commons.

True, but the pitcher landscape is barren. To me, it looks like Gerritt Cole is the last HoF pitcher for maybe a generation. Everybody after him is electric for two years and then on the IL for two years.
