    Late 80's California AllStars

I've seen references to the set is old hobby magazines, and I think the 2003 Standard Catalog might include it. I'll check this evening. ---Update--- Yeah, here's the checklist: 1 Wally Joyner 2 Reggie Jackson 3 Jose Canseco 4 Jose Rijo 5 Will Clark 6 Chili Davis 7 Orel Hershiser 8 Pedro...

About that 1 cent storage fee, the following situations apply: Only relavant when selling Free for cards not for sale Free for asking prices of 25¢ or less Free for first 90 days w/ original owner So it's not really a big deal unless you have tons of cards listed for a long...

    team issued Yankees postcards (1987-1993)?

I recently found Jeff Johnson and Pat Kelly cards from this set and thought it worth bumping this since it was so long since I originally posted.

    Beckett OLPG Free?

They should be identical. COMC has a licensing deal with Beckett for the book values.

    Japanese Cards

If you can find your cards, scan a few in, I'll see if I can track them down in Gary Engel's book. Cards from the 80s would most likely be Calbee cards, that came with small bags of potato chips or Takara that came as part of a team set as part of a game. The Calbee cards would have been...

    Japanese Cards

Ok, those are pretty rare then. Cross Stream was sort of like the Yankee Stadium Legacy set where the set was broken up across all of BBM's products, making it a challenge to assemble. There was the regular insert, and then the much more scarce #/100 parallel. However, on the Japanese version...

    Japanese Cards

Also be sure to check out japanesebaseballcards.blogspot.com. NPBGuy does write-ups for all the BBM and Calbee releases. It sounds like what you have might be some kind of BBM Touch the Game parallel, but I haven't found mention of one yet. Touch the Game is BBM's premium brand, and some of...

    Japanese Cards

What you saw were either expensive insert cards, or someone who was just trying to gouge. Your average card of Matt Murton should go for more like $2-3, if that much. With shipping, you'll pay more, but the regular cards shouldn't be much more expensive than cards in the US. I posted on my...

Now he has 3000, do you have his RC?

Who doesn't have one? They can be had for practically nothing. Like so many other rookies from the late 80s-early 90s, there is an endless supply and only a light demand, again, because everyone already has one (or ten).

question about collecting every card from a certain player

I'm on the staff for the Inventory system, I'll have a look. --edit-- Ah, the major discrepancies seem to be due to an indecision at SCF on how to handle the Topps Tek patterns and Moments and Milestones sets. Those aside, the numbers are a bit closer now. 2197 @ Beckett vs 1942 @ SCF. Not...

question about collecting every card from a certain player

Check into the Inventory Manager over at SportsCardForum.com, for some players, it's a lot more comprehensive than Beckett. And it definitely has far more foreign, oddball and minor league sets listed.

    Sportlots.com Contact Number or Email

That sounds about right for them. It's only a 2 man operation, but they should put a little more effort into customer service.

Do player collectors like printing plates?

I would love to have some printing plates for some of my obscure player collections, but I've yet to see any surface for Hensley Meulens or Tuffy Rhodes.

The stamped 1991 Topps cards would be Desert Shield. The cards came out before the actual invasion.

    80's & 90's Mother's Cookies Cards Are BEAUTIFUL! (Scans)

I want to say Barry Colla did the photography for these cards, which helps explain why they always looked so good.

    Sportlots question

Sportlots is pretty strict with sellers, so it's not difficult to get suspended, especially early on before building up a lot of successful sales so that the occasional mistake in inventory doesn't cause a major ding in a seller's inventory accuracy (cards delivered/cards ordered (missing a...

    Sportlots question

From the seller side, it is extremely easy to accidentally cancel an entire order when attempting to adjust for a single item. I did it shortly after I started selling on there. I was missing a single card from a 10 card order, but instead of hitting the button to adjust the single item from a...
