The vast majority of 1/1 cards. Sure if it's a 1/1 bat knob or fight strap snap, or logo man or something, fine. But just something that is no different from a base card except that it has different colored foil and is the only one printed in that color? Lame.
Going back to an earlier post, I...
Lemieux TTM in the 2000s was notorious for odd colors-- green, teal, purple, red. I've heard the reason he did it was so he and his people could monitor approximately what percentage of his mail sigs were getting sold.
It was great! Most of it was on a cruise so we were pretty limited on what we could see and do-- a half day in Napoli, a day in Capri and Sorrento, and a few hours in Propriano, Corsica (where I found out I'm better than I thought at speaking French) before getting back on land and flying to...
Just got back from a week in Italy, France, and the UK to see these waiting for me...
NOVEMBER 7
Juan Pizarro, c/o home, 3/3, 1 month
I'd post the trip photos too, but there's about 100 of them and they aren't sports related. I have them on Facebook though if anyone wants to see.
Googled. Can confirm.
Good stuff; I wish the GMC event in Dallas had been that good-- I completely skipped it because it was basically Jay Novacek and a parade of nobodies.
If they're the cards I'm thinking of, they're alright. I'm opposed to manu-patch stuff and this is in a similar vein, but at least it's something that's meant to look like something other than a jersey piece.
I got my Pudge one signed and it came out pretty nice.
Because that would be a...
OCTOBER 15
Bill Pierce (haha! get it?), c/o home, 2/2, 12 days
Two more signed from my dad's collection, these coming from 1963 Topps (his regular card and World Series Game 6).
I apologize for the worst pun I've written yet.
OCTOBER 11
Clarence Scott, c/o home, 4/3, 3 months
He also enclosed a note telling me he's in the Dallas area once a year for business and to give him a call sometime. I may just have to do that.
OCTOBER 10
Frank Bolling, c/o home, 2/2, 7 days
Both cards are from 1962 Topps and were originally part of my dad's collection. He gave me his old cards when I was in Ohio for the National back in August. These are the first two I got signed from that batch.
So that means Allanson charges $1.25 per HR hit in his career. For anyone not wanting to do the math, if Willie Mays charged that, he would be $825 per item and Hank Aaron would be $892.50.
How much do Plunk and Jackson run for cards?
Nice!
In the event that both of these teams are in the crapper late in the season again in 2015, please question my sanity if I skip their September 14-17 series.
Good stuff. Darwin is an awesome signer both IP and TTM. I definitely plan to try Sprague and Cerone soon.
Also he's in Pilot Point, TX, not just Pilot. Looks like it got there fine, but just to be on the safe side for anyone planning to try it.
