Reds exported. Had a pretty good SIM at 8-4 and climbed back into the NL Central race. Reds and Brewers still have 10 remaining games head-to-head.
Also had my top prospect (1st round pick this year) take a minor ratings decline and is now out of the BA Top 100. He lost one point in...
NYM - your injury bug has gotten me in Cincy! After years of avoiding multiple serious injuries, the CPU has come down hard on my Reds this year. Lost LF Mason, CF Rodriguez, and SP Alvarado for the year. Tough to replace three key guys like that and it's tough seeing $22 million in salary...
Seems like a little more high-end talent than normal in the draft class - especially at 3B and SS...
Looking forward to making up this year's list!
Eric
Reds exported after a pretty disastrous SIM (4-10). Seems like my team has had slow starts the last few seasons - maybe I need to change up my Spring Training regimen. Pitching was horrendous in April so I'm hoping a couple of those guys can turn it around quickly!
Eric
Pretty thin crop of free agents this year, isn't it? Most of the talented guys remaining are 34-37 years old and of course they all seem to want multi-year deals! I don't plan on being too active this off-season, but you never know...
Eric
Congrats, Chris! Good run for both teams this season.
I noticed new budgets were set for 2018. My owner graciously increased my budget by about $20 million. I guess that's the benefit to having an owner with a "Charitable" fiscal personality. Reds are up to a league-high $132 million budget...
Reds exported. Ready to take on the defending champs! It will be a battle of the top two pitching staffs (based on lowest ERA) in the NL so I guess we should anticipate close, low scoring games.
Eric
Also, I think players that are on the DL are eligible for the playoff roster, even though they aren't technically on the 25-man roster as of 8/31. They can come off the DL in SEP and still be eligible for the playoffs.
Eric
Haha, that seems to be how my team goes. Slow start to the year, then come on strong in the second half. By the way, thanks for trading me damaged goods in CF Rodriguez! I hope Rubio goes down with an injury next SIM, lol! We still play 5 more times in SEP and my schedule gets tough down the...
Reds are surging, 12-3 this SIM and 23-7 for the month of August. Moved into 1st in the NL Central, but now I have to deal with my new CF Rodriguez on the DL for 3 weeks. Pitching is looking good, but a couple guys on offense need to step up a little more...
Eric
Oh man, a CAREER-ENDER of a 4-star player in the NL West. Tough break.
Reds had a strong SIM. I made some lineup changes last SIM and it seems to have worked, going 11-4 this SIM. Just swept STL (payback from earlier in the season!) and now just 1.5 games behind PIT.
Eric
True, I saw that some of the teams don't have many quality/expensive vets to move so that makes it kind of tough. I would think you could get something for either Prado or Markakis though. They are older, but still pretty good hitters...
Reds exported.
I'm surprised there aren't more trades like the Royals/Cubs deal. There are a handful of teams that are out of the race and could really accelerate their rebuilding process by acquiring some of the prospects that might be up for grabs. Many of the trades seem to be between...
Now I see what you mean, Heath. Cory's posts are really tough to read. There's a Beckett ad in his post that pushes all the text to the left border - only 3-4 letters per line. I think it only happens on mobile - I just noticed it now on my phone and everything looked fine on my laptop...
Not sure if it's just me, but I got an error message when trying to download the file. I'll try the old reboot and give it another shot.
Eric
***UPDATE***
Issue resolved. That reboot trick never fails!
Reds had a good SIM at 8-4, but couldn't make up any ground in the division. Still...
It might get even worse for me - we still have one more to play in this series so I'm looking at getting swept in a 4-game set. Just when I thought I was closing the gap on PIT, I forgot to look in my rear-view mirror to see the surging Cards!
