    Last week's 1987 Topps successes

Everyone- Had another pretty solid week and a return that came in 163 days later, the longest yet. Thanks again for reading and good luck to all this week. http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-28907-Seattle-Baseball-Card-Examiner~y2010m4d26-1987-Topps-Project-Update-No-20

A big week for 1987 Topps

It seems like there are people like that in every set. There are a few that I know of in 1987 Topps. Roy Lee Jackson, for example, flat out refuses to sign. I saw his '87 Topps sell for I think around $70-$80, pretty steep for someone who is a) still alive and b) a marginal player. But that is...

A big week for 1987 Topps

Thanks for pointing that out. An extra set of eyes are always helpful especially since I'm my only editor. I'll make the fix. Thanks again.

    First ever TTM success!!!!

I tried back in October. He was actually one of the first guys I tried when I got into this. Congrats, he's tough. What cards did you have him sign?

Any one else received this from Lee Smith?

I agree that it's his perrogative if he wants to charge. Plus $15 is a nominal fee when considering what Biggio charges above and what Randy Johnson is asking ($150 per flat) at a show coming up here in a few days. A small fee (something in the $5-$20 range) is OK by me, plus it is assurance...

    3 cool returns today

Very nice. I've got a feeling Dale Murphy just saw his rate of fan mail increase.

Any one else received this from Lee Smith?

He sent the card back so that's something. Although losing a 44 cent stamp is actually costlier than almost any 1987 Topps card.

Any one else received this from Lee Smith?

The thing that really stinks is that my request went out at the end of November. I saw successes here and on SCN, and kept waiting for him to get back to me. I was pretty excited when I saw him show up today, until I opened it of course.

Any one else received this from Lee Smith?

It seems that Lee Smith has headed to the TTM darkside. I received my 1987 Topps back and the note below. Too bad, although $15 for a player of Lee's caliber seems like a fair rate.

Another (two) week(s) of 1987 Topps

I'm not doing the Traded set, but chances are I'll need Evans. He's doing a show in August, correct?

A whole bunch of 1987 Topps

Yes. Thanks very much for those. Now I have to take a look at Hayes and Samuel to complete the leaders card. Anyone have any history with those two?

A whole bunch of 1987 Topps

All- After a week off due to only a couple of returns, the 1987 Topps Project had a great week. Below is the link to the story which includes a great YouTube clip of everybody's favorite set-up man Charlie Kerfeld. Who doesn't love a drunken postgame interview? Better yet, Kerfeld is enjoying...
