If there was ever a real life Seinfeld reaction to an actual trade it was Tom Brunansky to the Cardinals for Tommy Herr. Yes Bruno struggled to start the 88 season and Herr never wanted to come to MN, but it upset the clubhouse chemistry was extremely unpopular in MN. Could the Twins have caught...

No, not at all, sir. I will say that you are only a new teenager older that i am, so i appreciate the whipper snapper comment, BUT....some times in the morning the bones feel like a 57 Chevy that has sat in a museum for 40 years.

Looking at those stats makes Tatis seem a touch over rated. Or is it just me?

Right, or he'd be a "minor star" in Beckett pricing terms. My thing is, if someone were to hit .400 now would that make people realize high average is a good thing or would it be like oh that's nothing

Yeah, i have a shop im going to stop at today in between jobs, where i got my Puckett from, and stare longingly at the 2 full 82 topps traded sets with the Ripken showing.... bought a set without one, but don't really want to buy a whole set just for cal....

I know the Ripken was about right, but the prospect auto and the pack price were ridiculous

Probably 2/3 of an inning for some of these guys. I remember one Brewers game i worked and the opposing pitcher had nearly 60 pitches in the 3rd inning. It's just insanity. On a side note I stopped at several area card shops tonight after work and was blown away at a couple things. Packs of...

Its kinda weird that Gibby faced the Giants twice, in less than a week, both against Perry and missed Marichal. Was that a four game series?

So rude of him.... I should dm the fool and give him a piece of my mind!!! On a side note, I think it would be a fun contest to guess which player has been posted the most in this thread to celebrate the upcoming 10,000th post.

I've recently been listening to the Road To Cooperstown podcast and it's amazing how many players who have done the show, mention things like not specializing too soon/playing other sports/doing other things to save wear and tear on arms. John Smoltz, Fergie Jenkins, Joe Mauer, Jack Morris, Cal...

Right, and played a lot of 1st base even into the mid 90s. Wasn't a media darling, but he was steady, consistent, and a team leader. If i had to pick 2 first basemen from the 80s Murray and Kent Hrbek would be my choices over Mattingly. McGwire, Joyner and Clark.

So the skeptic in me says this is the first Eddie Murray card posted in this thread. I could be wrong, but dont recall seeing one as we approach 10,000 posts in this thread. The variation that all 88 record breakers were going to look like.
