The NFL is better when the Cowboys are in the picture. At the moment, it feels a little like the 1980's. I'm not a wizard, but I do spend far too much of my time listening to sports radio.

I d I meant no disrespect and certainly no hate. I just think Jerry has and continues to ruin this franchise. You mention he is both owner and GM. He has proven himself to be a terrible GM. Any other GM with his track record in the 21st century would have been fired ages ago. Just look at how...

I grew up a Dolphins fan. I can't even look at them. They are among the 5 worst run teams in the shield, outdone by the Jets fer sure and the Browns. Probably on a par with the Giants. 'Boys not far behind. Yoiu can be absolutely sure I won't be watching the star. I'll watch the Rams, the Lions...

Tell me honestly, Cowboys dude - aren't you a little embarrassed by the Jerry Jones shenanigans? How long has he been running the show down there? Since when does he negotiate deals directly with his players? He must think he's living in the 1930's. My prediction - they'll be lucky to win more...

Some were good. Joe Torre was a borderline hof for his playing career. Gil Hodges. Dusty Baker. Lou Piniella had a good career. Casey Stengel was pretty good. So there were a few. Course then you've got Bobby Cox and Sparky and Leyland and LaRussa and Bochy and Tito.

He was not a good ballplayer. In fact, none of these guys were any good. I remember, I used to see them play at the old Shea Stadium, on the flightpath to LaGuardia.

Boston may very well have been the last mlb team with a black player - I think it was Pumpsie Green.

out of the 6 players pictured on the AL card, only 1 is a hof. The other 5 had a few good years - Maris, Colavito, Cash, Gentile and Wagner.

That one sure is a beauty. Mine has a slight wrinkle. Drag. But then, at 300-400 I probably won't be replacing it. OTOH, my 2 Seaver rc's are pristine.

the thing that's so sad about these guys - mcgwire, sosa, bonds, clemens, manny, a-rod - they all dominated without them and would have been 1st ballot hof. what a waste.

very nice looking card. My favorite Garagiola quote is when someone asked him about his catching career. He answered "Not only was I not the best catcher in the major leagues. I wasn't even the best catcher on my street!" That's cuz he grew up on the same block in St. Louis as Yogi Berra.

When I was 6, the year of that Robin Roberts, ballplayers were not gods amongst men. '64 packs came with coins, I had multiple Mays, Koufax, Ford, Clemente. We used to throw them in the deep end of the pool and go diving to the bottom to pick them up. They were toys. Like GI Joes, which we used...

What do you expect, they were on cereal boxes fer chrissakes. We grabbed some funky school scissors when we finished the box and snipped out the player. I don't think we even considered them cards like the ones we got in packs. I only have one from those days, Robin Roberts.
