    Which set to start?

    Thing about the first two is that they are sold in set form, so you have to have someone dumping dirt cheap a set that has all but the key cards in it and then fill it out with the stars as they come up affordably, or you will pay dearly to get commons a few in at a time.

    valediction has some good advice, I'd second what he has to say. If you don't have vintage traders you will definately not be able to trade, especially for the big ones or ones in the better conditions.

    Shelving units for card box storage

    I use something called "gorilla racks" that I bought several years ago at Costco. I think you can also get them at Home Depot, but they are incredibly sturdy as opposed to a nice dresser that has sagged over the years from weight of multitudes of 5000 count boxes.
