Today I received the following:

1982 Steve Kemp Topps 670
1982 Steve Kemp Topps 670
1980 Steve Kemp Topps 315

Steve Kemp was one of those great Tigers who toiled for the team between the Kaline/Freehan/Cash glory days and the Trammell/Evans/Morris successes. Over 11 seasons, Kemp put together a .278 average. Between 1977 and 1983, he averaged 17 home runs and had a .371 OBP. Kemp even made the All-Star team in 1979! He spent the last half of his career with the Yankees, Pirates, White Sox and Rangers.

Kemp was a heck of a hitter back in the day. You've seen the "Seinfeld" episode where George Steinbrenner goes on about how his guys wanted Ken Phelps so bad in exchange for Jay Buhner? Well, before Buhner was a Yankee he was a Pirates farm hand. Kemp was the guy the Yankees gave up to get Buhner in the first place.
