2010 Heritage"dice game"/interpretation??

OK,
Pujols is at bat,the pitcher throws him a fastball,the dice roll is a
12,it's a homerun!!!
That seems simple enough,but whats the significance of the 3
little blocks next to the result? Some have a letter,a number,a word
or are blank. Have these cards ever been explained?
I only have 2 of these(and thats enough)cards,but was wondering.

I think they signify which runners advance on the pitch/play- two players, one is pitcher, selects type of pitch, rolls dice, outcome of play in large box, outcome of runners in the three little boxes- on a homer, all boxes would say "S". You might see a 1, for advancing one base, or 2, etc. No would be no advances.
