I've never sent any cards TTM during Spring Training but, it seems like the MLB guys sign more during ST than during the season. So, this raises a question. Who should I go for and who should I not? I would like the higher caliber guys if possible but just lead me in the right direction of players to send to. Also, do you send the cards to the team's ST address or somewhere else? Any help with this would be much appreciated.
If you could let me know your past successes or failures that would be great also!
Has anyone sent to the Reds?

I've had great success sending to Cleveland Indians players during ST. A couple days ago I received a topps chrome RC signed from Jason Donald that I sent last year during ST.

I can't remember sending to higher caliber players, I usually went with younger players or known signers. I always sent to the complex/stadium address c/o the player's name. I also sent about a week before they were scheduled to report.

i just sent out to the cubs, pirates, mets and jays today. as tribefan posted in a prevous post of mine #7 on this bench link

and its a good idea in sending out team ttm's but as a rule of thumb for ttm'ing is to never send out a card that you cant afford to loose. so go for whom ever you want on the team players, coaches, front office, braodcasters. just try you may be suprised on who you get back too.

so again as for who, why not try to get the ones you think might not sign to sign, maybe you will get some sweet returns.

good luck dave

I also had great success sending to the Cleveland Indians players. I sent to 9 different players and got 8 of them back. Only guy I didn't get back was Carlos Santana.

I also just got Jason Donald back a couple of days ago. I sent it to spring training last year. :)

As far as big name guys last year. I received a Mark McGwire return from ST in about 2 weeks and also got Don Mattingly back but it wasn't until after the season was over.

You never know who is going to sign and who isn't. Take a chance with who you want a signature from. Worst it can cost you is a few stamps and a couple of envelopes.

I would also send them out asap once the players arrive at ST. I seem to have more success sooner in ST than later.

Good luck and hope you have many successes.

I usually send on 2/14/2012 every year. I start with sending the managers and pitchers on that date.

Then I send to every one else around 2/16 - 2/17

Okay, I was planning on sending to Youkilis, Ortiz, Gonzalez, Lackey, and Crawford. Is that not a good idea? lol
Adrian and Lackey last signed TTM when they were with their old teams if that tells you something... but yeah, save your money for someone else.

Red Sox are now sending out preprints on the top players with a form letter from each of them. The Cubs you can save your stamps on, in the past 2 years I have gotten back zero of of 30 sent. I did get back some that i sent to Wrigley at the begining of the season around the end of the season. I got back Wood, Soto, Lamahieu. It is just plain luck sometimes. Last ST I got back from Joba and the sandman but no one else did. I got back most of the cards sent to ST at the end of the season. I was thrilled to get Mattingly as well. I also sent to Paul Molitor and Tony Oliva via the Twins new stadium at the start of the season and got both back in the last month or so. Most of the guys I got back were the younger guys. I did have awesom luck with the Red Sox at the minor league teams as I got Nava, Reddick, Vitek and Anderson all last year. I also got McGwire in two weeks at ST and Matt Latos.
Good Luck !
All the best

By the way have you ever seen Carl Crawfords Auto ? It gets my vote for the worst auto....
