Hey everyone,

I just looked at the checklist for the Brewers team set and something very obivous jumped out at me.

8- Ryan Braun
45- Travis Ishikawa
59- Jon Axford
123- Richie Weeks
149- Yovani Gallardo
172- Nyjer Morgan
307- Norichika Aoki
322- Alex Gonzalez

I've noticed in the past certian card numbers are "held" for certian players. Braun has been #1 in various issues and this year Harper I believe is the first card..Mantle at #7 etc... However this year with the Brewers all of the card numbers for the players have their jersey numbers in it. The only one that does not fit perfectly is #322 Alex Gonzalez, he wears #11 for the Crew but has worn #22 in the past.

Has anyone else noticed this with their teams? Maybe this happened more often that I think and I've never noticed it before.

Thanks,

Frank

Looks like it's similar with the mets, but not 100%.
21 Duda (wears 21)
43 Dickey (43)
60 Rauch (60)
89 Santana (57)
109 Nieuwenhuis (9)
129 Davis (29)
139 Parnell (39)
144 Bay (44)
156 Gee (35)
250 Niese (49)
271 Familia (27)
300 Murphy (28)
312 Hairston (12)

This would also explain why the "good" numbers like 100, 200, 300 etc, normally reserved for superstars, this year went to players like Scott Downs and Daniel Murphy.

Also note that there is no #7 this year and the set ends with Jose Reyes in a Blue Jays uniform at #331. Havent looked at the Red Sox numbers yet but this will make it interesting to explore.

Thanks,

Jeff

I know Justin Upton would have fit it before he changed his number in ATL to 8. His card number is 110 and his number for the DBacks was 10.

I thought something was up when I noticed Barry Zito was #75. The A's in the set:

23 Jemile Weeks (19) That doesn't match at all...but his brother Rickie has uni #23. He stole his brother's number! Rickie is #123 in the set.
48 Ryan Cook (48)
76 Brandon Inge (he wore both 18 and 7 with the A's so not much of a match)
85 Sean Doolittle RC (62...no match)
160 Stephen Drew (wore 6 with the D-Backs...there's a 6 in the number at least)
211 Jarrod Parker (11)
259 Bartolo Colon (21...but 259 is close to his weight!)
316 Josh Reddick (16) Also coincidentally or not Reddick is a big WWE fan, so it would match with Austin 3:16.

I love when card companies put some actual thought into their sets.
Richard

It is pretty much throughout the set.

6 Ryan Howard
2 Jeter
55 Lincecum
213 A-Rod
10 adam Jones

Not sure if I prefer it this way or like in the past where superstars got the higher profile numbers. Not that it matters, as long as the cards look good.

Good eye...
Cubs that fit:
44 Anthony Rizzo (#44)
113 Starlin Castro (#13)
209 David DeJesus (#9)
229 Jeff Sarnnardzija (#29)

Cubs that don't fit:
280 Rafael Dolis (#48)
299 Darwin Barney (#15)
