50/50 Offer for Arizona Summer League Games - Successes 07/12/12!

Updated: Post 16 with my first AZ League successes.


Hi All,
I'm going to be spending some time in the Phoenix area over the next month and I've been scouting out the AZ Summer League rosters and schedule to create a strategy to see games.

Some parks are a bit of a reach but none of them are impossible. I'm leaning more towards the games in Tempe (Angels), Phoenix (A's), Scottsdale (Giants), Mesa (Cubs), Salt River (D-backs) as they have the shortest rides.

I'm finding my information here... www.milb.com and then follow the link to the AZ league rosters. Information seems to be changing quickly. If anyone knows of any rehab situations or resources for that information, let me know. Identifying the rehab players is a bit tricky. I've also been searching team by team for injury announcements.

Review the rosters and if there's something you need, I may be able to help.

Hey! Just letting you know that the Wikipedia rosters are totally out of date. The milb.com rosters should be correct. I know for sure that the following players are not currently injured and are playing higher up in the Angels organization:

Chevy Clarke
Randal Grichuk
Cameron Bedrosian

I would guess that many of the other players you listed would be in the same situation as well.

For example on milb.com here is the AZL Angels current roster:

Yes, that wiki page was pretty out-dated. A few of the teams listed show that it was updated over the past week but it still doesn't match the milb.com rosters. Proof you can't trust the internet for anything! I'm going to make sure I have a couple MLB baseballs for any surprise guests at these games. You gotta figure there are a lot of retired players in the area who help out the teams on-and-off.

I can come up with some Steve Karsay and Damion Easley without any problem. I should have at least 6 Karsay and 12 Easley.

I found three Easley singles so I'm in good shape there. I should have some Karsay singles mixed in with my Indians collection but I haven't found any yet. If you are interested in me getting these autographed for you (50/50 or otherwise), post a trade, send them to me and I'll give it a try. Worst case scenario is I send them back (or use them as firestarters).

I made it to a couple games this week. I saw the Angels @ Brewers in Maryvale but didn't get any autographs. Also saw the Royals @ Indians in Goodyear and landed Nelson Liriano (4 cards). That game ended so quickly that I swung by the Tempe Stadium on the way back to the hotel and the players were walking across the lot as I pulled in. I did manage to get a single card signed by Matt Wise.
