Got another return yesterday on my project to get signatures from players who were born in my hometown of Mobile, Alabama or have ties to here somehow.
Yesterday, I received a card back from Jim Mason. He signed a Yankees Signature Series card for me in blue sharpie. He is the only player to hit a home run in his only world series at bat. He also playerd for the Rangers and Blue Jays. I went to high school with his daughter.
On Monday, I'll be getting a ROMLB signed by Jon Lieber who played for the Pirates, Cubs, Yankees, and Phillies. He played college ball here at South Alabama and lives here now. A friend of mine that I work with is really good frineds with him and I gave him a ball to get signed for me. He called me this morning and told me he was going out there today and I could get it from him Monday the next time I see him.
I just got a few cards in today so I'll be sending out more requests this week.
