nice pickups. I too like the hollywood/celebrity cards but have too much invested in my other projects to put a dent in those. I love the De Carlo and the Maren.

I have picked up the following over the past week and a half or so:

Not a big one but one less for that set. Nice to see that photobucket finally got it so you can organize each folder.

I got these in this week (last week I will be getting mail here in Hawaii):

I have the rest of my stuff going to my dad's house until my move to D.C., so I will post the rest of my stuff in June.

Picked up this one last week, very excited to get my second bat card of A's Hall of Fame third baseman Frank "Home Run" Baker. It also has some other guy's bat on there, and he's on the YANKEES, blech. Buy I guess he's okay. :D

2002 Fleer Fall Classics Rival Factions Game Used Dual Bats Frank Baker/Babe Ruth SP/25, BV $n/a. The version with just the Baker bat, which I also have and is not SPed, books for $80, so I would imagine this is my most valuable non-1/1 card outside of my off-condition T206 Chief Bender. I have always wanted a Ruth GU card and it's extra nice to pick one up that actually fits in my A's collection, from a set I really like.

These just arrived today. The Jordan '86 Star and the Stargell/Carter 1978 Cello will probably head to eBay soon. I'll be holding onto the Clemente so I can send it back to PSA in the future in hopes of a bump. It's a really nice 7!

Thanks
Craig

Haha, I feel like and idiot when I post in these threads, me and my mighty $30/mo budget.

Many of my favorite cards were under $5, even under a dollar. There are plenty of cheaper cards that are cool or have a good story attached to them. While the piles of Gehrig GU or HOF RC autos are awesome, I really enjoy seeing what anybody picked up for their collection that they like.

Wow, when did PSA start grading packs? I know that GAI company did that but I've never seen a PSA pack.

I'd agree with Richard, Ed. Collecting is about having fun, not who has the most valuable items. I'm sure there isn't a person here who wouldn't be shamed by a collector with a much larger budget than theirs. As a fellow mariners autograph collector, I don't think there is any shame in rejoicing over a Larry Milbourne autograph over that of yet another Jeter or Pujols auto.

Speaking of which, my latest Seattle autograph triumph is a 1977 Topps Ron Howard! It set me back $1.72.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone. Hobby trends and financial issues have me down a bit lately but I'm still picking up AD stuff I need here and there just so I have something to enjoy, thankfully most of it is pretty affordable.

Price does not matter for sure. I am working on a few projects and get cards from those themes because I need/want them, not so much to impress anyone. Two of my player collections are Phil Plantier and Kevin Maas. If I could find a card from either that I needed I would be more than happy to post it on here too! The joy of the hobby is the only reason to collect; seeing what others collect is just a small part of that happiness for me which is why I love this thread series.
