I have a question(and I don't mean to step on toes here,but I'm curious)
I can understand purchasing someones cards if you have no tradable cards, but,if this site is for traders first and foremost, why do we have a forums like Auction Exposure, and Hot E-Bay items? I,by all means, ain't no saint, and I've sold cards, bought cards on this site...and list cards I don't want on another card selling site. It just seems like that if this site is for trading,we shouldn't be encouraging "card flippers" by giving them another venue...If this seems out of line,I'm sorry. It just seems to me that if person A has a card for trade on this site,he or she should make attempts to trade it first before advertising it for E-Bay and others.
I,as always encourage others to look at my S/L inventory and see if there is something they like, and we try to make a tradable solution...It has worked well in the past and I've made a few friends. Thank you

My personal view is that the site can be used for whatever the members want. As far as card flipping, why don't you like that. It may be just a hobby for some to buy and sell cards. And if a card is for sale, what difference does it make as far as how the seller obtained it. If you like the price of a card you should be able to buy the card and not be concerned that a person didn't pull the card from a pack. I trade on occasion, I have sold cards, and sometimes I buy cards. Some of the cards that I buy are not for resale, but will be awarded to winners of fantasy leagues of which I am commissioner. And if it wasn't for this site, I might not have ever been introduced to fantasy sports for which there is also a forum.

Congratulations on making it to the Bench Hall of Fame.

It's really up to each member, we created the auction forums so that those types of posts wouldn't fill up the trade sections.

The new Hot Ebay forums is an automated forums, they are not my items. I have the software pulling 5 auctions with the criteria I specified every 12 hours. I didn't want it to fill up the auction exposure, so a new forum was created. Members can not post in the new forum.

Also with the new Exclude forums feature, you can easily add those forums to your profile and the thread will not show in your "NEW POSTS".

Thanks,
Peter

wow...where did I say that I didn't like card flipping...I just thought a trade was first and foremost to a trading site...Knew I was treading on ice here.hehehe.

Also I believe that most members would remove and item from their ebay listing is you were to propose a trade.

That has happened to me before,I've bought a card and it's already sold on e-bay...frustrating,but a rare occurance...I want to thank you for your input.as for the Bench HOF,well, everybody has their 15 minutes of fame...I was wayyy overdue ;)

I would think that once an ebay auction is posted that the card should no longer be available through The Bench. In fact, I have seen some posts for eBay auctions where the seller encourages people to make an offer. I didn't mean to jump on you Jimmy. My response is meant for everyone, because some people seem to loathe sellers. I was also just pointing out that there are several things The Bench has to offer.

I have an Ebay store that has a few sports items on there but is mostly books and other items. While I don't advertise much on here it is a good way to get press out on non-card items I may have. I would trade if I had the chance but finding someone that has hits off my currently meager want list is hard:)
