Beckett Down

I knew there would be a thread here about this issue!

Glad they gave us the extra 60 days but I do agree why would they do that so early if they didn't expect it to be down for an extended period of time? It's only been a week so far.

I have a few pending trades on Beckett that I can't access.
Can't look up BVs for trades.
Can't add cards to my OPG.

It definitely is annoying. I don't think people should stop trading though. Most lower end stuff is anywhere between $1-10 BV and you can estimate it based on player and insert/parallel to get close.

I never received an email from Beckett about anything concerning this and I've been a paying member since 1998........Not too worried though, luckily I know a few lawyers if things go sideways; probably be small claims in any case..........They have treated me right over the years.......

Now I'm hiding on The Bench
I'm a desperate man
Send lawyers, guns and money
The **** has hit the fan

They’re offering everything two free months, essentially extending subscriptions before renewal. Looks like it’s still down for now, but the website says they’re doing infrastructure work so hopefully the site will be better for it.

I have a feeling in 6 months we’ll be told they are offering ID monitoring for 2 years at no cost.
As long as I don’t have to go through that “send a text” to confirm…….I go through that enough at work……..3rd party authorization I think they call it……

I don't trade as much and have barely bought any product in 2026, to say the least with this fiasco they could offer a 5 year no renewal and I would still not bother renewing. You can also call me the grumpy old man but if they are going to an AI platform, I am definitely out because I think they should be notifying customers, they are doing that seeing they have our credit card information.

Hi
I'd ask if I was confused, but seems my general state these days, but I keep thinking that Beckett was bought by Fanatics and I think they must be redoing the whole site.

This is how I understand the ever growing problems in this hobby.
Fanatics is monopolizing the sports merchandising industry, including sports cards, by ******* up all rights as well as Topps, the leading manufacturer. This is crapping on new card availability and raising pricing in my opinion.
Collectors Universe is monopolizing the trading card grading industry, owning PSA, SGC and now Beckett. Although I don’t trade in graded, for those of you who do youcan expect pricing to soar.
Don’t expect Fanatics (ex 76ers owner Mike Rubin) to go after Collectors (too small beans for him) but to go into the gambling sector next. Draftkings, that sort of acquisition.
Anyway, all this consolidation is causing a monopolistic growth in consumer costs. And do not expect it to end soon or even level off.
I would expect Beckett to come back online, somewhere near the 60 day outage term, with improved graphics, more realistic value data and a new, higher pricing structure for card grading - and possibly a token system for its OPG to supplement a substantially raised subscription fee. A purchased token would grant 24 hour access each and they would sell these in bundles. Software companies have started this and I can see the OPG going this way.
You can tell I have too much extra time on my hands these days in order to be thinking this much about the hobby. Pray for me.

WRONG! As a certain politican once said "Once the war is over, prices will come down like a rocketship............except in the opposite direction".
****does the downward arm gesture****

Just sayin'.

Fanatics is already involved in gambling. It offers a similar service to Arena Club where you can rip digital packs (real cards stored in a vault) with buyback and trade/sale potential with other users. Conceptually, it’s cool but realistically you’re expected to keep selling back/buying new packs to try and hit a rare “grail card” which is like one in 1,000,000 odds with the odds resetting on every spin, not lowering as more cards from the pool are pulled.

To go with their sportsbook, they dabbled in sportscards initially. They then bought topps, and are making money hand over fist with cards, including tcg. It's ridiculous how people are getting taken advantage of with their gambling. If they don't get you with sports, its now the cards too.
