Well, went to the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame induction day today... was a bit disappointed with how so few of the former ball players that were there made themselves available for the autograph session but I had a good time... and added the former Expos I wanted to get.

I'm not a big trader usually on thebench but if any of you are interested in the Fanning, Stead, Taylor or Quantrill... maybe even the Jenkins (which looks nicer in person, the scan didn't really pick up the silver pen)... send me a PM. Those CBHOF cards are maybe not your cup of tea, I know... but it's all I had. The Taylor card may interest Mets collectors... it's not a card you see everyday and he is featured in a Mets uniform.

if the CBHOF cards pique your interest and you want to see more on them, here's what the backs look like. I kinda like their older style better (the Fanning and Taylor versions).

here are some customs I made. I couldn't get them signed... but if anybody wants them I can send them to you. Might be helpful for Orioles or Brewers collectors as Stern never had cards with those two teams. Maybe you can get a chance to get him to sign it down the road. I have 3 of each. I got one Sullivan signed but have two more if any Phillies collectors want them

Good stuff! Was the HOF Induction crowded?

wasn't too bad. they had a nice crowd... there was actually a bus-load of people from Taos, Missouri that made the trip to support Tom Henke who was being inducted... So there was a chunk of the crowd that travelled far for this. Taos is Tom's hometown and a bus filled with people doesn't sound like much but Taos only has 800 or so people so a good chunk of their population made the trip! lol

the other two inductees were two Canadians, Allan Simpson who is the founder of Baseball America and George "Dandy" Wood who played in the Majors waaaaay back in the 1880's... he actually was the 1882 homerun champion with, get this, 7 homers! my how times have changed! http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/w/woodge01.shtml

Do you have any extra cards of Aucoin? He runs a baseball academy right near me but I don't have any cards of him to get signed.

I actually had two cards of Aucoin, and he was one of the few to sit down for the autograph session, but they had this rule that you could only get one autograph per player.... so this kid behind me offered to get my 2nd Aucoin signed for me since he wasn't in line to get him.... but I got to Henke at the end of the line and then just walked away forgetting that the kid was behind me with my other card. But it's ok... the conversation started with me offering him the card because I overheard him saying to his dad he was considering getting Aucoin but had nothing to get signed... he then decided to not get him and offered to do it anyway for me.

had I not forgotten he was behind me with the card I could have traded it to you or if I didn't give it to the kid in the first place I coulda sent you the unsigned card to try your luck in NY. I don't have any others, sorry.

plus I ran into Aucoin a couple times after the session and even exchanged a few words with him, I could have gotten the 2nd card signed right then and there.
