Hello all,

I've been absent lately around here, been crazy busy with my baby girl and also getting my business going.

MY QUESTION: Would you guys want/expect a certificate of authenticity and a hologram seal if you purchased a signed jersey off a player's official site?

And what's your opinion as collectors as to what the collectors community would expect or want? Even if it doesn't matter to YOU personally, would you think that most collectors would want that. Would they be disappointed if they got their item shipped to them without a certificate?

thoughts? Comments?

Sure they would, there will be people disappointed it didn't come with a hand autographed letter thanking them for the purchase. Personally I don't care, but anyone looking for more than a collectible would LIKE some added provenance in the event they or their offspring do sell it. YOU might know you bought it from Stan the Man, Inc., but 15 years after you pass on and your kid hits hard times, that COA, hologram, picture with you and Stan as he signed it, etc. will make it a little easier for a potential buyer to shell out a few extra dollars vs "I remember my dad saying he got this from Musial's site" or I bought it in a collection from a friend of a guy who was a long time collector"

some good points, thanks for the input. If anybody else would like to share their thoughts, I'd love to hear it.

It would be nice if it would be included in the overall price but I think a COA/hologram is a good additional cost add-on and a revenue opportunity from the seller. Sad, but true.
