I recently purchased some autographs on index cards of deceased players and a few tougher guys to get. Here are my first two customs from that group.

Roger Freed passed away, and never had any issued cards with the Expos, making finding a signed one... well impossible obviously. Joe Gilbert, also with no issued Expos cards, is still alive but after 3 failed attempts TTM and having seen no successes ever from him... I figured I'd do it this way just in case I never get him to sign one of my regular customs.

I started with these:

then added my custom cards cut to fit the autos:

Have some more to work on, some may be tough as the autos are rather large on the index, but I'll try to figure something out.

Marc they look great :D
And I know what you mean some players sign really big when signing Index cards and it's hard to make it fit on the Baseball card.

Those are nice. What paper stock do you use and how do you attach the cut to the custom card?

The paper is Epson Premium Luster Photo Paper.... basically picture a typical 8x10 Glossy photo's stock... maybe slightly sturdier, a little less glossy.

as far as attaching.... I don't know yet! lol I want to be 100% sure I like the customs and 100% confident in how I'm going to attach it before I start cutting up the index cards.... I scanned the last pictures you see by just laying one over the other on the scanner.

any ideas on how to attach? I was thinking a rubber cement.

oh.... and thanks everybody on the compliments.

Those look awesome!

I use an elmer glue stick, to mount my customs to thick card board. I also use epson, but matte heavyweight. I heard the matte has a higher archival rating.

For attaching use an acid-free adhesive, have never had a problem with it bleeding or anything. I use one that rolls on. You can find something in a store that has a large scrapbooking section. If you have a Michael's nearby that is a good store to check in.

Those look awesome, I have a stack of signed index cards I am looking to do something with in the future.
