do these cards hold value or are they worth anything?

It depends on who they are and how old/rare the cards are. They're obviously not worth what they would be if they were mint, but if you're talking about Mickey Mantle or Willie Mays, they would hold some value. If you're talking about Vic Roznovsky or Phil Linz, they're probably not going to be worth much. They will generally be considered Poor to Fair.

Very well put. Deff. depends on the year. You talking about 1909 Tobacco? You're still looking good for the most part (compared to other sets) However it certainly depreciates the value of the card considerably.
 
It certainly lowers the value of the card a lot. But depending on the year and player some of them will have some value.
 
hi thank you for the info on the older cards,i came across these awhile back but were written on.........hank aaron #250,hank aaron # 1,willie mays #200,willie mays #49 x2,reggie Jackson 20,roberto clemente #6 of 33and frank robinson #7 of 33 just wanted to see cause I was about to throw them out,im glad I didn't ........ thanks for the info
