It bothers me a little that younger generatiosn know him only as Papa Elf, they are missing out on so much good TV and stand-up.

I agree about Newhart. I'm the old guy here at work, and get reminded of that by the blank stares I get when I mention Dick Van ****, Bob Newhart, Carol Burnett. Although I do get to give you an "are you getting senile?" razz for posting it in the BSL general talk instead of the TTM

Very cool!!! Love the Bob Newhart, he signed the DVD insert for Sports Pages a while back for me. If you ever get the chance, watch it! It has Kelsey Grammar in it as well.

I grew up on Newhart, and the Golden Girls, classic shows!

This is going to date me, but one of my favorite albums when I was a kid was a Bob Newhart comedy album. This was long before his first show on CBS. That man is still hilarious! He's also a pretty darn good actor, too. Saw him a year ago, I think it was, on NCIS, where he played Ducky's predecessor. A gifted physician suffering from dementia.
