Bench Warmer
Just got done speaking to a friend who says he wants to unload his huge baseball card collection. He says there is probably 500k-1 million cards in total. It is going to be vintage stuff all the way to early 2000s stuff. Lots of complete sets, rookies, inserts, base, and autos/gu stuff. Not sure on a price point but he is motivated to sell which means there will be a good deal. I know there are buyers out there who are willing to travel to you to buy stuff, anyone on here or know of anyone???
He is looking to possibly get around $5000 for it all or best offer, it is NOT just common stuff as I'm sure there are boxes with commons too. But if you do a lot of shows or own a shop this could be a HUGE deal for you. I myself haven't gotten over to look at it but he used to collect and he didn't collect junk neither did his mother who he got a lot from as well.
Went over here today (7/25) and here is some insight on about the 20% of things I looked through. Spent about 2 1/2 hours peeking in and sifting through some boxes.
Shoebox full of Ripken base, inserts, parallels and a few rcs
1/2 shoebox full of Michael Jordan base, inserts, parallels
full 4 row box of Mark McGwire inserts, base, rcs, parallels.
full 4 row box of 1/2 Sammy Sosa 1/2 Barry Bonds inserts, rcs, base, parallels.
In my estimation there is closer to 1 million cards honestly.
A lot of stuff is already sleeved and sorted just need to sift the junk from the sellable stuff.
All cards in pictures are included even the BIG card. He says he is 99.9% sure there is a Chipper Jones/Jeter or Chipper/Arod Co-Signers dual auto in a box somewhere. Also stated there is a box full of 50s 60s 70s football and basketball vintage stuff of which I didn't see. As far as sets there is easily 100 complete sets just in boxes alone, not counting sets in binders, big row boxes, and in snap cases. I saw some Brady RCs, Brees RCs, Manning RCs as far as FB stuff. Probably found 50 or so autos and gu in 1 box I sifted through fast. About 90% baseball and the rest is basketball, football, hockey, racing, and non sports. There are soooo many cards in toploaders that are brand new that can be taken out probably $500 worth of new toploaders and such. There are some sealed boxes in non sports too and older golf. There are magazines, price guides, old sports illustrateds, and much much more. Shoot me a message if you are willing to come and take a look and buy this stuff. Price is set to deal and NOTHING was taken out at all.
