Grabbed one of two of the Blasters on the Target shelf this afternoon. Got to the car and started opened and realized I had one of those "Purple Hot Boxes" that I have heard or read about here at The Bench. So of course, I ran back inside and bought the other...no such luck finding 2. Didn't get many really nice purples but did get a few to mention (see below). All are for trade for help to my wantlists. Thanks:

Mike - do you need the regular Platinum prospect cards or the chrome refractor versions? Have these for you if you still need them:

Wheeler, Zack (NYM) 2012 Bowman Platinum BPP48 chrome refractor - $6
Familia, Jeurys (NYM) 2012 Bowman Platinum BPP56 chrome refractor - $2
Wright, David (NYM) 2011 Finest 35 x-fractor #d 257/299 - $6

Could use the Chapman and Kershaw cards. $3 and $5

I have these...
1983 O-***-CHEE 52-TOM SEAVER
1992 PACIFIC SEAVER 2-JACKSONVILLE SUNS/PRO BALL PLAYER-TOM SEAVER

I could use the #65 Purple Refractor

Strange as it may seem, I need the base BPP48 & 56, not the refractors. I also have that Wright. Need #56 from the 2011 Finest X-fracs. Thanks for asking.

I am going through your Mets wantlist and don't see 2007 Goudey listed do you need those?
The 2007 Goudeys are listed between the Fleer and SP's. About the only thing I need is a Heads Up- #260 Wright. Thanks for asking. Mike

Not a problem i edit post #3 i believe you need the 2 cards i posted.
Need 'em...thx. Posted, will go tomorrow. Peace. Mike

2011 TOPPS GYPSY QUEEN SHORT PRINTS- 334-Nick Markakis

Mike,
Went through your Mets wants again and came across your 2008 Upper Deck Heroes wants and not sure if you would be interested in the Dark Beige Variation unnumbered they came in retail packs..i included a pic so you can see the difference between the regular version and the dark beige version..i have the Reyes(pictured) and the Pedro Martinez would like to get the Topps 2012 #446

Best,
David

Thanks David's!
David (dragonslayer), Is not one of those beiges numbered to 299? I didn't collect in 2008 but I thought there was a light beige (which I callled yellow on my wantlist) and a darker version numbered to 299. Am I wrong? I'll have to go through my cards and check and see which "shades" I have or don't have if that is the case. Beckett's does not distinguish between an unnumbered dark/light beige. I hate these dang parallels. Mike

There is a regular base version which is the Wright(Pictured) and a Darker "Beige" version which is Reyes(pictured) which is unnumber and there is a numbered to 299 beige version which is the same as the regular version (Wright)..you could only get the dark beige version in retail...there is also a unnumbered charcoal (not black) version and those are extremely rare...when i found out about the dark beige version i went through all 1000's of dupes and pulled almost 100 of them out.

Boy, this is a P.I.T.A. I am going to have to go through my cards and see if I have any/need any of those dark/light beiges. Why doesn't Beckett list the differences. Is it just that they used more ink in the retail batch than the Hobby? If that was the case it wouldn't matter to me if the beiges were mixed. I'll have to check. Thanks for the info. Slow at work today so perhaps I may have some time to look it up. Mike

I've always like a challenge in obtaining cards that are different whether its a different color variation thats not reported by beckett like the '91 Topps bright red 40th anniversary logo or the '87 Topps wood grain variations just to name a few.

Here's something to freak your mind if you have time go through all your 91 Topps and check the backs down by the copyright date
you'll see cards with A* B* C* but some have the A* B* and those are extremely rare i happen to have 2 of them check out this guys
website were he blogs about them.

David, I have all my 2008 UD Baseball Heroes sitting in front of me and tell you what, I am not drinking the Kool-aid. LOL! You are right about the shades of beige, but as far as I can see, there are shades of ALL of these cards. I have a light and dark shade of the x/499 greens, X/299 beige brown (actually 3 shades), x/149 brown, x/249 red, x/199 blue, x/399 charcoal, unnumbered black/charcoal and unnumbered beige. I have actually found a difference in shading on the tops and bottoms of the same card. Each card is divided in half by the circle that shows the player inside and while some of the cards have the same shade on the top and bottom, some you can plainly see a shade difference in the top and bottom. Sometimes the top is lighter than the bottom, sometimes it is darker. Looks to me like it is a manufacturing thing. Actually, I'd bet that the retail line probably had more or less tint than the Hobby manufacturing line. Since I have received all of these cards through trades as I did not collect back then, I probably got a nice mix of hobby and retail here. You may not recognize the difference as much if you just bought Hobby or just retail back then. Very interesting.
