just determined to the point of utter failure or success....I am just 2 for 42 in spring training successes this year:( , my rookie season, and dang it if I didn't get 5 more sent off this morning:eek: . I guess my thinking is if at first you don't succeed then try harder:D . The more you send the better the chance of getting some successes.

I've actually heard that everyone's ST return numbers are very low, so it isn't just you.;) I've actually seen quite a few guys around the 0/20 mark.

My numbers are pretty low too. I actually sent out quite a bit this year. As of today I am 3/64. Big Mac, Adam Jones and Jason Frasor are the only ones I have received back this year. Mike Leake sent back a preprint card and I would have gotten Orlando Hudson but the card I sent is not him even though it has his name on it.

I look forward to getting home in the afternoon hoping I have a large amount of letters in the box. It will be an early Christmas present to myself then. :)

So far numbers are low but right as ST and the season begins I've always gotten a bit back then. I'm 1-21 so far, will send out more later but nothing like past years. In '08 I had 51%, 09 60%, 10 48%. So as long as you didn't send to a ton of long shots and did a little research before sending you can probably figure getting about half your cards back.

I am 2/15 and I am also planning on sending a few more.
I agree with the post before if you do a little research before sending that will increase your chances of getting something back.
"Buena suerte a todos"

It has been a tough spring. I am looking at 3/72 to this point and I didn't really send to many if any longshots.

You guys are probably right, I just need to learn to be more patient, after all these guys are busy getting ready to play. I am well ahead of last years mailings. Last year I sent a total of 118 TTM requests and so far this year I have sent 82. I have sent some somewhat risky requests that are for my refractor project.

The only 2 longshots I sent this year were Mark McGwire who I got back and Don Mattingly.... I can always hope for this one back.

I had to learn patience when I first started going at this really hard. I would get disappointed after a week when I didn't get anything back. Now I am more laid back about it. Makes me look forward getting off work and checking the mail when I get home.

autographchaser.com is saying david wright has been signing and a few others. i usually look here every other day or so and see who has been signing lately, he usually knows.

Call me crazy but I generally tend to send to the "longer" shots during spring training, figuring my chances there are better, and save the "good" signers for the season.

This year I've only gotten Vlad and Chili Davis back out of 25-30 (I think) requests. Don't have my spreadsheet in front of me. To me, it's worth it just to have gotten those two traditionally tough signers.
