This probably been posted before but if your set needs are down to just a few cards it really helps if you post the players name,..

I manage my collection in strange ways so it will help in my searches for your needs,..

A few days ago I went through my commons till I realized it was a Piazza card the person needed.
I'm not complaining but it would have taken my searching in a whole new direction and I would have found it a lot quicker,......

Hope I didn't offend anyone,..

Amen to that Clint! I've said the same thing before. Adding the players' names is helpful even if the players are not stars. I have looked through my player collection dupes to find cards people need for sets. With the player's name added to the card number, it makes the process much easier.

Thanks, Rob.

I keep my cards chronolgical order - stars and older commons in books and commons in 5,000 count boxes. However, to keep track of them so that I can track down players someone wants, I spent over a year creating an Excell spreadsheet cataloguing every one of them available for trade - about 20,000 different cards.

I think as a general rule the more information you can include in a thread the better. Granted it takes time to put together a really well organized and detailed want/trade list but I've found more trades happen with the more time I put into that first post.

Providing just a number assumes others keep the cards by set and in numerical order as well (or don't mind searching stacks or boxes if they aren't in numerical order) or at the very least, the rest of the world has easy access to checklists to figure out the player.

It is in anyone's best interest to make their want lists as detailed as possible (year, set name, player name, card number and even team). We all sort cards in different ways and it might sound harsh, but is not hard to pass by someone's want list w/o bothering because it is not worth your time if they don't put forth the effort themselves.
