anyone here ever been there? my gf just left to study abroad there and im going to see her in december.

I have been to a lot of countries but Kenya is not one of them unfortunately. In fact, I have never stepped foot on the continent of Africa. I do have a missionary friend that lives there and he seems to be content. Sorry I could not help more.

It really depends on where in Kenya she is.

My wife's company has an office there and the employees live in a "secure" area with armed guards. We're not talking about some government thing here this is an Animal Rights Non-Profit.
