Ok, here is the deal. I have a 1997 Pinnacle mint coin of Barry Bonds.

Problem is I don't know if it is the Nickel or Solid Silver version.

If anybody could help by telling me how to differentiate between the 2 versions it would be much appreciated.

thanks
Dan

It looks like Beckett just lists Nickel and Solid Silver versions for the 1997 coins, no "regular" silver. I can't find any of the solid silver baseball coins on eBay or comc, but if you check out this auction for a silver football coin you can see that it says "FINE SILVER" on the back in very small letters. I can't say 100% but there's a good chance the baseball versions say the same. Also it looks like the Nickel versions have a duller finish and the Silver ones are very polished and shiny.

Yeah, I misread on the silver. That was just the card not a coin. There are only the 2.

I looked on eBay before I posted to see if I could find anything.

Mine doesn't say "fine silver" but it is pretty shiny so I was wondering if it was the silver.

Pretty big difference in value so would like to know before I do anything with it.

Yes, the baseball 1997 Pinnacle coins ALSO have "Fine Silver" on back...what you have is the nickel version.

Yep. I have the Bagwell nickel and silver. The fine silver has a little tab with fine silver written in the middle of it. Mine also has a "Congratulations" card with it say it is .999 oz of fine silver.
