Nice card, but I'd ask for a refund. If you paid that price because you though the book value listed was correct that is. That was an outright lie on the sellers part. If you like it and are happy with the price knowing it isn't worth what the seller said, keep it. Nice card either way though.

Truthfully, I think that's part of Boyd's strategy. He routinely overstates BV's by 15-20%. I don't know if people have reported him over the years (or if eBay ever did anything--I'm guessing not), but his misstatement of BV's continues...
 
I would never ever take an eBay seller's word for BV. That would be like viewing an auction for "1988 TOPPS GLOSSY ALL-STAR WADE BOGGS SUPER RARE!!!!!111" and just believing it's a very rare card. If you are unsure of the value of an item you should always look up the BV or check past auctions, etc.

That being said, it is pretty slimy how some sellers will just pull a BV completely out of their butt, especially on old inserts that booked for $50 10-15 years ago but are only worth a fraction of that now.
