I am looking for a non-recessed screwdown holder in order to house a newly acquired 55 Topps card. The only ones I have only fit the standard sized card. If anyone has one they can mail to me, I'd be more than happy to send some cards of your favorite player or team along to you.

PS: The holder can be used, but please no marks or sticker spots or anything on it. Also, I'd prefer the 4 corner screwdown type as well.

Thanks, John

I can only suggest to you, please, don't use a non-recessed screw down holder. They have been known to stick to the card surface over time.
I just mention this as a fellow collector hoping to save you any problems.
I'm not saying it always happens, but it can and I would feel very badly for you if your card was damaged.
Again, it's only a recommendation.

I think that happens only to newer modern day cards with glossy....I know I have had many nice PC cards damaged because of surface sticking on screwdowns.

I remember reading a story, I believe in a Printed Beckett Years ago about a Topps 52 Mantle that had been in a non recessed 4 screw down holder That when Removed had surface damage, I am sure moisture played a part in it so It was probably an issue with where the holder was stored, But I still personally wouldn't chance it.

Hey John,
I can send you one of those. It will be used but nice condition. Post it up.

I didn't realize that it was that much of an issue...they dont make recessed ones for early topps cards do they?

John

Mintman--do you want me to send anything to you for it?

Maybe a decent Idea would be to get either an oversized Penny Sleeve to slip it into first, or if need Be ( I have done this in the past for odd sized cards) a 5x7 Ultra Pro Page ( just like the 9 pocket oned for 3 ring binders but they usually have one or two slots instead of 9) Scissor it down so you can put the bowman in there and then put it in 4 screwdown holder, But Tighten the screws barely enough to hold the card in place?

Pro-Mold does make a recessed one screw holder for those vintage cards. If you take a look the site they have a a chart of all the holders they offer.

i guess the one-screw holder would work, as long as it holds vintage...mintman...any chance you have one of those? If not, i'll still take the one you offered.

Don't have any oversized recessed holders but I do have an oversized non recessed four screw if you'd like. It measures 4x6. Or I could send you both. Go ahead and post up whatever you'd like.
