I wrote to former player,Johnny Schmitz in effort to add his signature to my Archives collection. I got the following leeter from his niece,Betty.

"My uncle John passed away.He was not able to sign." Betty.

Sadly, we are losing another Golden age of baseball player, but more than that, the family lost a loved one. My condolences to family and friends.
