player salary- release question

let's say you have a player , like the bullfrog for instance< that has the remainder of this year to play and then one more year with a team option on his contract. If he was released now would the team be charged the second year, or only the remainder of this year because of the option? Thanks Pat

Pat - You'd only be charged for this year - not the team option. I just recently did this with Dmitri Young. Also, it gives you a confirmation warning before you do it so you'll know exactly how much cash it will burn.

cool. thanks eric, I was not thinking of him, but I have had a couple other players whose previous owners had loaded up in the final year with and option and wondered what would happen. Pat
