Yesterday was the annual "Picnic in the Park" for the Portland Sea Dogs (AA Red Sox). Most of the players were sitting at tables on the ball field. There were about four to six who weren't there. But for $15 you could go through the autograph line and have an all-you-can eat lunch.

There was only one person there that had autograph limits ... the manager, Kevin Boles. I had two of his cards and he only signed one. I really just needed one signed for my set so I didn't bother asking if he missed it or not.

All the players were really nice and they sat in the hot Maine sun for an hour and signed autographs for the 200 or so fans. Toward the end the lines for each table dwindled to nothing so I hopped back in and got a few extra cards signed. However their Sharpies were drying out -- gave them mine to help the cause. :)

I will trade some of these for autographed cards I need for sets ... see the list in the signature profile.

Thanks for reading!

I like how the one set is very similar to the 84 Fleer design. I always liked that design. It is amazing to me that there are so many cards nowdays of AA players to be available for signing outside of a small team issue offering. It's good for autograph seekers.

Awesome pick ups, Scott! How was the spread?
There were hot dogs, hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, cole slaw, baked beans.... Very tasty! But whether it was *really* good depends on who you ask. For me, it could have been due to driving two hours earlier that morning and standing out in the sun for an hour-plus. :)

But everything was cooked right there. And the Sea Dogs Biscuit (vanilla ice cream between two large chocolate chip cookies) is fantastic!

Found out today that three of the players at the Picnic in the Park are no longer on the team .... traded!

Stephen Fife (Dodgers)
Tim Federowicz (Dodgers)
Chih-Hsien Chiang (Mariners)

Congrats on the autographs. I would be interested one of the Tim Federowicz autographs. Please send me a PM with what you may want in return. Thanks.
