Well, I can't trade either of my top 4 SPs on the ML roster (Francis, ****, Weaver, or McGowan). Not right now at least. However, I have several guys in the minors that I could move if any of these guys can help someone now or in the future. I'm open to any offers - ML or minor league guys.

SP Denny Miller (AAA) - probably the toughest to get since he'll likely be my #5 SP this year

SP John Koronka (AAA) - A crafty left-hander. His talent/potential numbers won't dazzle you, but look at the year he had at AAA last year (making the all-star team). He's ranked as the 10th best pitcher in AAA right now so figured someone might roll the dice with him as a #5 SP.

SP Herman Cooper (AAA) - Had a really good year in ML as my #5 SP last year (3.16 ERA and an 8-6 record). He's also Popular! His ratings declined a little, but he's ranked as the 13th best pitcher in AAA and possibly headed for my bullpen/emergency SP role.

SP Roberto Correa (AAA) - Good numbers as MR last year in the minors. Converting him to an SP now so he just needs to improve his stamina. Currently rated as the #14 pitcher in AAA.

SP/MR Sidney Ponson (AAA) - He expects to be in the majors, maybe more as an MR, but he has the stamina to be an emergency SP in case of injury.

SP Ian Kennedy (AAA) - His potential and numbers increased in all three categories this year so he's on the way up.

SP Gary Madison (AA) - Another lefty and just 20 years old so a little more of a wait-and-see project.

SP/MR Carlos Martinez (AA) - Decent numbers, just needs to improve control.

SP Gio Gonzalez (AA) - He's available, but the price is high since he's my best prospect. I have depth at pitching, so I have to consider moving him for a batter - either a good prospect or an upgrade at the ML level.

I could trade you RF prospect Elijah Dukes for SP Gio Gonzalez, he is rated higher on the BA Top100 at #27 versus #41.

Okay - I think I replied to all the original posts and PMs so far. A couple of interesting ideas. I'll be checking back tomorrow.

sinocc - I don't know about Chipper - I might hold off for now, but won't rule it out completely. I just wish his contract was a couple years shorter. I like Fullerton a little, too, but not any of those other guys you listed. Or, 3B Rich Allen?

trade discussion

fullerton is in AA for 2008 and is not yet ready even for AAA. even though he looks like a huge upside player, he is still a few years away. i want to keep him and develop him. as for 3B rich allen, he is the reason i can afford to trade chipper. i am not trading him unless i got some can't refuse offer of a couple 5-star sps or something!

by the way, look closely at chipper's contract; i purposely gave him one that gets lower and lower until in the 4th year, he is being paid only $14 mil. it goes like this: 2008 $22.2 mil, 2009 $18 mil, 2010 $16 mil, 2011 $14 mil. i plugged that in purposely so that as he gets older and skills diminish, he won't be overpaid, at least not by much in today's market! so, if i have to keep him and go with him, my budget won't take the hit of $22 mil each year. his skills have not deteriorated yet. he had a monster year last year and was pretty healthy playing when not tired only. it seemed to work!

let me know. i have had some other nice offers for chipper but really want and need starting pitching, at any level! gio, correia and kennedy are all in my list of sps i would take in any trade combination.

thanks and take care!
