Can anyone explain why before 2010 the adv. no hitters per year was 2. From 2010 to 2014 with combined pitchers the adv. jumped up to 5. I would think that with larger ballparks and the dead ball era in past days it would be the other way.
Probably multiple reasons why.
1 - no more amphetimines allowed, so players are playing tired and not as alert?
2 - hitters just aren't as good? look at the averages of some of the lineups and you wonder why there aren't MORE no-no's every year.
3 - more good players taking days off?
4 - better scouting allows for the defense to be positioned better for each hitter?
