This should be an interesting list for both you and Hodee. Both Mitchell Irving and Marcus Harristone made this list. But which of these bums was rated higher on the The Sporting News Top 140 players in NFL History?
I will say the Cowboy who is rated right behind all time leading rusher Elmer Schmidt should have been the highest rated Cowboy. I'm sure the ner'do'well from the Mean Streets of McGehee knows who I am talking about. And NO! i am not talking about Jerry Yubbs either. Geez you guys,

I love lists like this and the debates it stirs up... I know the excuses for Emmitt being the number 1 Cowboy and not Staubach... and I still think Smith deserves to be number 1 in Cowboys history. He took more of a beating on his body and still accomplished more than Roger. His all time rushing record will never be broken. That alone should put him at the top.
I can't argue with that. The three greatest Cowboys were Emmitt, Staubach and Lilly. However the greatest Cowboy player of all ime was Larry Allen IMO. The reason I put him as the greatest player is he is most likely to be 1st Team All Time Team where the other three would not. Only Anthony Munoz was a higher ranked O-lineman and he was a tackle where as Allen was a guard.
How about Cliff Harris at #99? Is don't think he is in the HOF but I need to check that out.
EDIT: Upon further review Cliff Harris is indeed in the Pro Football HOF as he was inducted in 2020. I did not know that.

I did notice the 2 Dicks on the list. I was surprised they censored those... it's their actual name, not a nickname or anything like that. Geez... when did the internet become so sensitive??? lol
Not a great player. But surely an underrated all time name. Sure he either had a reputation in high school or was picked on quite regularly.
put him right up there with Pete LaCock, Rusty Kuntz, Dick Pole, Fair ******.
btw - i'm sure you know that Pete LaCock is the son of game show host Peter Marshall.

Popeye Jones was one of the most recognizable players in NBA history!!! He and I have something in common which is we both have nicknames inspired by characters from Popeye. Mine was Goon which came from my dad when he would get pissed at me. I was either "the Big Goon" or "Laughing Goon' and my three brothers were the "Little Goons". My sister-in law thought the name was so funny she would just call me "Goon" and my nieces from that side of the family call me "Uncle Goon" to this very day and they are in their 30s!
If you don't know who The Goons are they are in this short 1938 Popeye clip. My dad sure knew how to come up with names for us when he was mad. LMAO!!
