Wow, you kinda went a different direction than I thought! lol I guess Popeye SHOULD be in there with these 3 cuz he is so recognizable. Those ears!
Popeye the Sailor is a cartoon I never got into... but watching that one my mental image of you is becoming clearer!
Goons was an apt name for me and my brothers and we all laugh about that 50 years later. We are all between 6'4" and 6'7" tall and that is not an exaggeration. Oddly my sister was only 5'5".

When I was real young I LOVED Popeye. I always liked the violent drama type cartoons like the Herculoids and Jonny Quest. I guess I am a litlte Clockwork Orangish with that preference. LOL Oddly I never liked the "Ha-Ha" cartoons even though I find humor in just about everything.

Today i present to you the first, and presumably last pitcher to hit a grand slam in the World Series.

Bonus points if you can tell me where he was from and the other Orioles lefty who emerged from the same city 15 years after McNally retired.
That guy was a great pitcher. He was always among the league leaders in wins in the daily newspapers when I was a kid. I'll always consider him a big star.

I know he is from the Upper Midwest. I think North Dakota. Not sure of the city but I remember my friend recently telling me he was from Montana or one of the Dakotas.............North dakota I think Like Boog Powell and Mike Cuellar he is a somewhat forgotten great from those late 60s early 70s Orioles teams.

I don't know the city or the exact state he is from but I am going to guess Steve Stone is the othe pitcher from McNally's home town?

@SymphonicMetal ,@metsman1986

Montana is correct, think largest city in the state
And the other was also a lefty, Bob Welch and Steve Stone were both righties
Bob Welch was just a wild guess but figured the time between McNally’s retirement and a rookie around that time……..Stone I never would’ve guessed; being Jewish and from Montana? You never know……..

Fair enough. The city McNally was from was Billings, MT. the other Orioles lefty was Jeff Ballard who had a couple great years on sone truely bad O's teams in the late 80s. When i was in college i learned Mr Ballard lives a few blocks down from the college i went to , and that McNally had a car dealership downtown. And Jeff grew up with Dave's son.
