The series is over..the parade is done (Dozier looked like he was having the time of his life!!).

Now it is time to start thinking about what teams are going to look like next year when spring training rolls around...

We already know that Strasburg has opted out. We know that Rendon is going to the highest bidder.

What are the Red Sox going to do with Betts & Martinez?

Where is Gerritt Cole going? - Feels like the Angels is a natural destination for him.

Also waiting for the awards to be given out.

Very true - have seen some of the nominees, for most categories, it has been the players that most of us have been talking about all season!

JD Martinez opts to stay in Boston for at least one more year at about $21 million. Has another opt out in his contract after the 2020 season.

The Yankees don't put a qualifying offer on Didi, so no compensation if someone else signs him.

Yordan Alvarez is the AL Rookie of the Year.

Pete Alonso is the NL Rookie of the Year.

Don't think either of those results are a surprise - had Tatis not gotten injured, think it would have been a much tighter race in the NL...

In other news - Mike Fiers said in an interview that the Astros have been illegally using cameras to steal signs and relay them to hitters. If any part of allegations are true, it would feel like the Astros are becoming the Patriots of MLB!

Ohh....yeah...Yordan Alvarez is AL rookie of the year.
I know it was Soroka/Tatis in 2nd/3rd in the NL.

But didn't see who finished 2nd/3rd in the AL. -- Just looked it up and it was John Means and Brandon Lowe. Eloy finished 4th, Cavan Biggio 5th. Vlad nowhere to be found...

A lot more information starting to come out about the Astros and their sign stealing. Curious to see how MLB deals with them. Have to assume a major fine, and probably draft picks lost??

CY Degrom and Verlander

Can't really argue with either of them, but kind of thought Scherzer & Cole would be the winners.

Trout/Bellinger are your MVP's for the year. No argument with Bellinger, but Trout seems to be a bit of a stretch, since he missed at least a month with injury - felt like a good year for Bregman or LeMahieu to win it.

Glad the twins were able to keep pitcher Odorizzi even if its for only one more year.

Missed this one - do you happen to know what he signed for?

Saw where Boras said it seemed likely the FA's would be signing much quicker this year - will see if that pans out.

Gerardo Parra will be taking Baby Shark over to Japan and playing for the Yoriumi Giants. Hope the folks over there can rock Baby Shark like the folks in DC!

But didn't the cardinals were in trouble a few years ago......getting into another teams computer?

Can't remember the punishment, but yes, the Cardinals got in trouble for hacking the Astros computer system.

With Beltran and Cora now managing teams, I can see the MLB coming down really hard on the Astros to make sure the same stuff doesn't happen on their watch with the teams they are with.

No major FA signings yet, but Padres seem to be pretty active putting deals together.

Just heard on the radio that the Yankees are all in on Cole. His contract could be north of 250 million.

Sounds like it will either be the Yankees or the Angels for Cole - that is a lot of money, especially if a good chunk is guaranteed.

Phillies sign Zach Wheeler away from the Mets - it is a good start, now just need 3 more starters, 4 bullpen arms and 4 or 5 guys who can field or hit. Make that GM earn his money.

In bigger news, especially for Mets fans, the Wilpons have agreed to sell the controlling interest in the team by 2025. Going to a billionaire whose name I can't remember - but that is just what MLB needs is a team in NY with an owner with deep pockets not afraid to spend!!!

Stephen Strasburg re-signs with the Nationals 7 years/$245 million. Have to assume that means that Rendon will not be back with the club. Kudos to the Nats for keeping him with the squad and kudos to Strasburg for wanting to stay with the team that drafted him - would be great to see him finish his career where he started it.
