Just heard on the radio that the Yankees are all in on Cole. His contract could be north of 250 million.

So far north of $250 million that it almost qualifies as south!! 9 years/$324 million. The Yankees are your prohibitive favorites to win the 2020 World Series.

Heard on the radio today while on the road - if you add Stanton and Coles 2020 salaries together, it is higher than the payroll for the entire Orioles roster.

The Phillies pick up Didi Gregorius to plug a hole at shortstop. Now if they can figure out a way to get Josh Donaldson to hang out next to him at 3B for 162 games this year, that would be super.

Strasburg is apparently talking with Rendon, trying to get him to stay in DC - that would be a HUGE coup if he could make that happen!

Corey Kluber to the Rangers. They get Delino DeShields and pitching prospect Emmanuel Clase back in the deal. Feels a little underwhelming in terms of what may have come back at the trading deadline.

Mad Bum to the D-Backs -- 5 years/$85 million. Is there anyone left for a contender like the Dodgers to grab? Dallas Keuchel? Josh Donaldson?

Stephen Strasburg re-signs with the Nationals 7 years/$245 million. Have to assume that means that Rendon will not be back with the club. Kudos to the Nats for keeping him with the squad and kudos to Strasburg for wanting to stay with the team that drafted him - would be great to see him finish his career where he started it.

They have as good a chance as anyone (and better than some!) - and if they keep their AAA club in Fresno, that gives them good mojo going forward.

Starting to hear the Lindor getting moved out of Cleveland rumors gaining more traction - my son wasn't happy about Kluber being dealt, if Lindor goes as well, pretty sure the Tribe will no longer be his favorite team.

I would like to personally thank the Royals for signing Mikael Franco - hopefully that is a sign that the Phillies are going to make a run at Josh Donaldson.

Doesn’t hurt Astros this year, they don’t have a pick until #72 and they have enough young talent to hold them over.
So I don’t really see any real deterrent for them.
Cora could be interesting though! He was warned before, so penalties could be huge for him.

Add Beltran to the list of coaches gone due to the cheating scandal. And now rumors of electronic buzzers under the jerseys. Curious to see how far this ends up going and if any players end up losing time due to suspension - despite the commish coming out and saying that wouldn't happen.
