The targeting call kept Clemson in the game and the overturned scoop and score was too much for OSU to overcome. On the final interception it was just a miscommunication and not really any ones fault. Olave broke off his route when he thought Fields was beginning to scramble.
I'm still in shock even though it was days ago. I feel really bad for the guys who are moving on. To be the better team, to dominate your opponent and have your career ended by awful officiating is something they will never forget. The class in which the players have handled this situation is something all Buckeyes should be proud of.
Absolutely rooting for Burrow in the championship game.
I think it would have been worse, if it was a call that kept the Buckeyes from scoring. Despite how everything played out - the Buckeyes had the ball and could have won the game. They had their destiny in their own hands.
New Years Day was weird -- just doesn't seem like it used to be. Used to be games kicked off at 11am and every channel had a bowl game on - this year, I only saw 2 or 3 on television, and didn't watch any of them. Before, I would be glued to the television for hours. I like the playoff, but it basically makes every other bowl game irrelevant, unless you are alumni, superfan, or gambler.
