A pretty cool day! Virdon kindly signed a 1977 Astros Program, a 1977 Astros Team Photo (already signed by JR Richard, Terry Puhl, and Deacon Jones), and a 1980 Astros Team Photo (already signed by JR, Puhl, Jones, and Tal Smith). Adding Mr. Wagner to that really made my day.

Cool stuff, Bill Virdon is a great ttm signer and a nice man, he lives not too far from our hometown and makes occasional appearances at Cardinals Winter Warm up. He always draws a great crowd and is a class act!

God Bless,

hey Jim, you think the wagners are legit??some i have seen posted look a little too neat..then again, there are some similarities to his certified..just thought i'd ask since im sure you've gotten him ip a few times..thanks

It was the first thing I thought of, Chris. His sig in person is usually hurried and the "ner" in Wagner usually trails off to a line. These sigs are...well...neat. So, I did some on line research, and no, I'm not finished with it by any stretch of the imagination. I'm going to be looking closer at these sigs and some sigs that have been authenticated by JSA and PSA/DNA to get a better read on these.

This example, below, is what I'm used to...

However, I'm also seeing these...

...and that's what these TTM 'graphs look like. So, to be fair, the jury is still out.

How did you get J.R. Richard?

I grew up in San Antonio and he was a legend on the Astros teams as I was growing up.

JR has made a few personal appearances around here in the past 6 months. I got him at a couple of those. He's a legend around here, too. Everyone remembers Nolan Ryan was baseball's first million dollar a year player when the Astros signed him in the winter of '79, but Nolan wasn't the ace on the staff in 1980. JR was. JR was amazing! Most dominating pitcher I ever saw.
