Oh yes, he was a pretty darn good pitcher! A blast from the past. The man had a cannon for an arm. He was 14-3 in 1970, his rookie year, and made the NL All Star squad, but tore ligaments in his pitching arm and didn't play in the postseason. He never regained his form and won only 22 games after that. I do remember that incredible first half in 1970 like it was yesterday. He had amazing stuff, and at time seemed unhittable.
