Football on Thur night...Chiefs 34 over Texans 20......

I am personally still having trouble getting back on the NFL and NBA bandwagons.

Did enjoy the PGA playoffs the previous 3 weeks - Dustin Johnson absolutely crushed it in winning the tidy little $15 million prize. Also enjoyed watching the ANA Inspiration with the ladies, was pulling for Lexi in the playoff with Brooke and Minjee. Crazy how they had a "barrier" behind the 18th green that basically kept balls from going into the water. I need that type of setup on a golf course where there is a barricade keeping me from getting into trouble!!! Would probably also lower my golf ball budget by half over the course of a year!!!

Where are we at with sports right now????

Tennis is back -- first major wrapping up this weekend.

Golf (womens/mens) -- men have one major in the book, and the 2nd (US Open) kicks off next week. women are wrapping up their 2nd major today.

NBA - playoff bubble in full effect

NHL - playoff bubble in full effect

NFL - kicked off Thursday - with fans in attendance

NCAA football - kicked off yesterday with fans in attendance

MLB - rolling forward towards their playoff bubble

Have definitely missed sports - some more than others!

Don't forget NASCAR. It has been back all summer and is now the ONLY professional sport I can watch unless you count MMA. It was the first to come back and this coming week will be the 3rd race of their playoffs under the lights at Bristol with a limited amount of fans.

After a short stint of apologizing on behalf of their fans (LOL), NASCAR is finally back to focusing on the action. They have lost hundreds of thousands of fans for multiple different choices they have made this summer...But nothing compared to how many the NBA, NFL and MLB are losing in terms of %.

If the Big 10 comes back then that will give me one more to watch...fingers crossed!!!

True -- I did miss mentioning NASCAR, mea culpa on that one!

Based on what I saw this morning - you will be getting your wish of the Big Ten coming back -- looks like mid-October. Guess the thought of being left out of the playoff cash grab was to much for them!

More importantly - the US Open will be kicking off tomorrow morning at Winged Foot - should be an amazing challenge - hopefully the scores will stay close to par.

Big Ten is kinda back....

While I'm thrilled with at least an attempt here is my concern.

The restrictions that have been put in place will make it nearly impossible to complete a full season for any team. Specifically: 5% positive rate or more on those tested for the team and 21 day quarantine for individuals?!?!

Even the CDC doesn't recommend 21 days! 5% is just a handful or less of positive tests. The false positive rate alone could easily get you to that number.

I fear the presidents and commissioner have put these crazy restrictions in place so at the end of it they can say..."We tried, don't blame us".

High school football kicks off tonight here in my neck of the woods -- and I guess I am technically in Big 10 country - between U. of Maryland and Penn State. Hopefully the HS football is a good bellweather and it not only comes back..but sticks for the season.

Winged Foot had no teeth at all yesterday, most golfers under par ever at a US Open held there. The course is fighting back today. The wind is blowing a bit - scores are much more like we are used to seeing at a US Open. Should be a fun weekend - even if it isn't wrapping up on Fathers Day.

Crazy golf season comes to an end this week - with about as an amazing end as you can think about -- The Masters in November. And Tiger as the defending champion. You can 100% bet with certainty that my television will be tuned in at 3pm on Thursday (traditional start of TV coverage).

And as a huge bonus -- sounds like there will be a new release of golf cards in 2021. Lets get through these last two months and throw out those 2020 calendars!!!!

The field of 94 @ Augusta is down to 92 -- Sergio Garcia and Jaquein Niemann have both WD'd with Covid. Not the start I was hoping for for Masters week

No WD's announced this morning. Taking that as a positive sign down in Augusta. TV coverage starts at 1pm tomorrow.....can't freaking wait!

Don't think they have ever done it before, but due to more limited daylight than in April, they will be doing split tees and morning/afternoon waves and final cut will be Top 50 and ties -- will not have the previous standard of anyone within 10 shots of the leader as part of the scenario to make the weekend.

And as could be expected in this amazing year....we are in a weather delay in Augusta. Hopefully they can avoid the nasty stuff and get the tourney going full bore ASAP.

Lost internet for almost 48 hours...wasn't sure I was gonna make it or not....

DJ is absolutely running away with The Masters. When he hits the ball like he is right now, he is without question the best player in the world.

Has been nice to see karma biting Bryson Dechambeau in the butt all week -- called Augusta a par 67 and that he was going to crush it with his length and found out the hard way, it is never as easy as it looks!

Well that was an anti-climatic Sunday at Augusta.... Dustin Johnson sets a new scoring record and picks up his 2nd major. It never got close on the back 9 and he just cruised to an easy victory.

Rory once again thwarted in his quest for the Grand Slam.

Now we sit and wait patiently for the Hyundai TOC in Hawaii to kick off next season in January.

Completely forgot about the upcoming Mickelson/Barkley v. Manning/Curry matchup. In my humble opinion, you gotta take the best player in this situation, which is Phil, regardless that he is teamed with Barkley. As long as it is straight better ball and no alternate shot, I think they win it rather easily, like 4&3.

Got to play 18 this morning..and now watching The Match with Phil/Charles & Steph/Peyton. Through 5 holes, Phil/Charles 3 up. Amazing how different Charles is playing versus what you have seen with his swing the last couple years.

Not going to say I am good at this type of prognostication, but someone called this match at 4&3 a little over a week ago. Definitely fun to watch. Curry/Manning never able to get a clutch shot or putt when they needed it. Charles absolutely surprised me with both his swing and his soft touch around the green. Also loved the fact that they were playing for charity and a lot of good organizations benefitted from the match.

Just when you thought golf was done for the year...

The LPGA has absolutely rocked it the past two weekends. First with the US Womens Open down in Houston. Honestly can't remember the winners name right now, but she birdied the last 3 holes to end up winning it by one. And than followed it up this past weekend with the CME Chase for the Globe year end tournament. Jin Young Ko killed it on Sunday and ended up winning it coming back from a shot down starting the day.

And on top of that - the PNC Challenge, a PGA pairs event, played their two round tourney this weekend. Tiger played with his son Charlie, who at 11, was the youngest competitor there. The kid had game. It was literally like watching a mini-me of Tiger.
